Yang Bingyan’s biography

Young and good doctor

When Yang Bingyan was young, he often used a brush to write down prescriptions. Later, Yang’s father began to teach Bingyan how to write, including holding the brush, writing basic strokes, and writing notes. He waited and asked him to write down prescriptions. Two years later, Yang Bingyan had already mastered medical skills and could write well. He was determined to be a good doctor.

Joining the Army

Enlisted in the army in January 1965, Yang Bingyan joined the army honorably with the dream of becoming a military doctor. He only worked in the army health team for seven days, and the regiment transferred him to the special agent company. In the guard platoon, I became a guard for the regimental commander, and my dream of being a military doctor was shattered.

In 1966, he was promoted to deputy squad leader. Because of his good calligraphy, Yang Bingyan became well-known in the regiment. Later, he was transferred to the government agency as a clerk. Engraving wax plates and writing monograms became Yang Bingyan's job.

In September 1966, he joined the Communist Party of China. He has successively served as deputy director of the Cadre Deployment Division and Director of the Reserve Cadre Division of the Political Department of the Beijing Military Region, deputy division director of the Beijing Municipal Military Transfer Office of the People's Liberation Army, deputy director of the Political Department of the Beijing Garrison Region, deputy director of the Political Department of the Hebei Provincial Military Region, and director of the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Culture Long grade.

In 1968, he went directly from the regiment to work as an officer in the Cadre Department of the Beijing Army. He was mainly responsible for the management of personnel files, and writing with a brush became his main job.

In 1987, he began to study calligraphy courses at the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Correspondence University and graduated in 1990.

In 1990, he graduated from the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Correspondence University majoring in calligraphy.

Farewell to the Army

In 1996, Yang Bingyan, who was nearly fifty years old, bid farewell to the army and took up the post of Director of the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Culture. Working in state agencies, he should have a better understanding of the state system, political system and The administrative operation mechanism of state agencies, so he used the Spring Festival and other holidays to study behind closed doors to prepare for the exam. In the end, he stood out from more than 100 candidates with an excellent score of 13th and was admitted as a graduate student in political science at the Central Party School.

In the 1990s, he successively held leadership positions in the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Culture, the National Library and the National Art Museum of China.

In November 2001, he served as Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the National Library (in charge of daily work).

Longing for Art

In 2004, he served as Director of the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Culture, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the National Library, and Deputy Director of the National Art Museum of China.

In November 2006, he went to Japan to participate in the "Fourth Tokyo Art Exchange Exhibition" organized by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and exhibited two works.

In 2010, he served as a director of the Chinese Calligraphers Association.
