Li Shutong, also known as Li Xishuang, Li An, and Li Liang, was born in Tianjin, his ancestral home is Pinghu, Zhejiang. He served as a teacher and editor, and was later ordained as a monk. His Buddhist name was Yanyin, his nickname was Hongyi, and his later nickname was Wanqing Laoren.

Once his handwriting appears on the market, it will become a hot spot for collectors! His calligraphy works have repeatedly reached new heights!

The old collection of Rongbaozhai, Master Hongyi's couplet "Seek the Right Enlightenment, Forget Oneself and Help All Living Things", the upper part is "Collecting Huayan Sentences", the lower part is "Yiyin is sixty years old", seal Zhu Wen "Hong Yi" and "Buddha Statue Shape" seal. Checking Uncle Li's chronology, the master was sixty years old, which was the 28th year of the Republic of China, that is, 1939. That year, Hongyi left Quanzhou and entered the Puji Temple in Bifeng, Yongchun. He lived in seclusion for 572 days, cut off contact with the outside world, and compiled various texts on classical law.
