Author's brief introduction
Liu Jiang, formerly known as Fo Yan, is on the shore of the lake and knows right from wrong. Born in July 1926. People from Wanxian County, Sichuan Province. Young children inherit family studies and love painting and calligraphy. After graduating from secondary normal school in 1945, he was admitted to the preparatory school of Chongqing National Art College to study painting. In 1949, he joined the army, and in 1957, he resumed his studies in the Department of Chinese Painting of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts, where he was taught calligraphy and seal cutting by President Pan Tianshou. He graduated in 1961 and stayed in school to teach calligraphy, seal cutting and other courses. He used to be a professor at China Academy of Fine Arts, the executive director of China Calligraphy Association, the creative evaluation member, the vice chairman of Zhejiang Calligraphy Association, the vice chairman of China Calligraphy Education Research Association and the vice president of Xiling Printing Society. He has published more than ten monographs, including Liu Jiang's Selected Seal Carving, Seal Carving Techniques, seal cutting, and China Seal Art History, among which Seal Carving Techniques and Beauty of Seal Carving have been translated into Japanese and Korean languages.
I studied calligraphy in Yan Zhenqing, Liu Gongquan and Zhao Mengfu, then Li Beihai, and then I studied in han li, Qin Zhuan. Later, he specialized in seal script, starting with the inscriptions on tablets in Qin and Han Dynasties, catching up with Zhong Ding's inscriptions and tortoise shells and bones, and involving Wu Changshuo, Yang Yisun and Deng Shiru. He is good at writing divination with Shi Guwen's brushwork. His pen and ink are vigorous, thick and vigorous, and his composition is varied. Zhu Lesan and Wu Changshuo, seal engravers, pursue the charm of ancient seals and seals, seeking agility in muddy silence and elegance in plain simplicity.
