Wang Xizhi's regret

Wang Xizhi's regret

The greatest calligrapher in the history of China. Wang Xizhi, known as the "sage of calligraphy", studied calligraphy under the famous female calligrapher Mrs. Wei when she was young. From the perspective of Wang Xizhi's essays, Mrs. Wei's enlightenment education to him is still good. Coupled with Wang Xizhi's diligence, his calligraphy has reached a certain stage, but it seems that it is still so far from success. Wang Xizhi was depressed and finally found the crux of the problem. Teacher Wei's teaching is to bind students firmly to the traditional pen and ink techniques and make them narrow-minded and unable to see widely. Therefore, he resolutely bid farewell to Mrs. Wei and wandered north to find the remains of the ancients. Through the cultivation of nature, he realized the true meaning of calligraphy art. In Mount Tai, he was intoxicated by the Taishan stone carvings written by Li Si. In Luoyang, he stood for a long time in front of Xiping Shijing written by the famous calligrapher Cai Yong at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. In Xuchang, in the broken wall of the ruins of the Han and Wei palaces, he repeatedly studied the palace inscriptions written by Liang Hu. Fortunately, he saw Zhong You's performance table, which is known as the "father of calligraphers", and broadened his horizons. "Mrs. Wei's book has been studied for many years. I changed my teacher and still learned from the inscriptions. " Finally, he became a generation of "book saints". Huai Su, a great cursive calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty, loved calligraphy very much, and because he "hated not being able to see the miracles of his predecessors from afar, he saw very little", he traveled to West Chang 'an. His predecessors' legacy is absolutely simple, and he often sees that "suddenly his heart is a little sluggish" and he has become a calligrapher as famous as Zhang Xu. These examples tell us that if we want to learn a skill, we just need to work hard, because the teacher's words are not enough. We should also learn from others, as Du Fu said. You should also pay attention to life, sister art and broaden your artistic horizons, as Lu You's son said. At the same time, as advocated by Dong Qichang in the Ming Dynasty, "read thousands of books and take Wan Li Road". Only in this way can we make great achievements.
