In her short life, Shi Pingmei created a large number of poems, essays, travel notes and novels, especially poems, and was known as "a famous poetess in Beijing". Most of the works focus on the pursuit of love and truth, and the desire for freedom and light. After her death, her works were edited into two collections, Tao Yu and Accidental Grass, by friends such as Lu Yin and Lu.
Shi Pingmei was smart and studious since he was a child, and he was very popular with his parents. From the age of three or four, her father taught her to read and insisted on it every night. Later, she entered the primary school and attended classes with the children during the day. After school in the evening, her father still teaches four books and the Book of Songs.
