First, we should know something about calligraphy in the Northern Wei Dynasty, or have a certain brushwork basis. The "Longmen Twenty Paintings" in Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang are authentic and pure Weibei calligraphy, and its writers come from a large number of people. So now some people classify the calligraphy of the Northern Wei Dynasty as "folk calligraphy". Its stippling is simple and direct, and its structure is rough and casual. After writing, it is also carved by masons, and the inscription is even more straightforward and bold. Zhang Menglong Monument is a calligraphy monument rooted in the Northern Wei Dynasty. Its basic brushwork is based on Fang Gang, and it should show the strength and extensiveness of the knife method. Therefore, when writing, you should cut the pen straight and turn it out with wrist force to make it as powerful as a knife.
Take horizontal painting as an example: when starting a pen, pick up the nib slightly and cut it decisively at the right position. Then, don't move the pen, but quickly turn the pen slightly to the left with the strength of your wrist (a bit like starting to point the pen at the front), and then go back to your wrist to adjust the nib to a suitable writing state. This process is very short to show the vitality of Weibei. In the process of writing, turning a pen into a knife is like walking on a stone tablet. If you feel resistance, you should push it hard to the right. There should be a change in stroke pressure, slightly thinner in the middle. When you close the pen, you should lift it slightly, then cut it off as you did at the beginning and close it.
Skimming must be done in the center, not in the curved shape. Find the right direction and close the pen slowly. The nib should be forced outward from the middle.
As mentioned above, Alina Zhang Bellon has the charm of Nantie, so stippling is not just a square, but a square and a circle. As the picture shows, the last stroke of "Zu" is a round stroke, and the first stroke of "Jun" is also a round stroke. Moreover, the whole inscription is different from the "Longmen Twenty Products", which is less angry and increases the "round" clear gas. Therefore, the study of Zhang Menglong's stele should not only have the character of Weibei, but also have the charm of calligraphy.
Secondly, because Zhang Menglong's tablet is the first example of regular script in Sui and Tang Dynasties, we can refer to the epitaphs of Yu Shinan, Zhu Suiliang and Dong in Sui Dynasty and the tablet of Longzang Temple in order to better understand Zhang Menglong's tablet. At the same time, the context of these rubbings and strokes is relatively easy to understand. In the study of Zhang Menglong's tablet, when some pictures are difficult to write, I come here to find methods and inspiration.
Thirdly, the process of temporary study is divided into three stages: comparing temporary writing, that is, practicing bit by bit against the post; Write behind your back, write down the inscription, and write without reading the post. After memorizing, in addition to writing time, you can also review with a hard pen in your spare time, which will get twice the result with half the effort; In the creation of word collections, proverbs or idioms with two or three characters or four or five characters are used as calligraphy works with few characters for simple creation. And every word of these proverbs and aphorisms is found in the copybook, written several times separately, and then composed into a work. Then, step by step, until a couplet, a Tang poem and a Song poem. This will be easy to get.
