The words "Pu" and "Peach" in the first couplet are just homophonic with "Grape"; "Mei", "Gui" and "Rose" in the second couplet are homophonic. At the same time, the "Pu Ye Grape Leaf" is classified as "herbaceous woody" and "plum blossom, sweet-scented osmanthus and rose", which is embodied as "spring fragrance and autumn fragrance", which shows that the couplets are ingenious, novel and interesting.
Mi Fei, a painter in the Northern Song Dynasty, likes plum blossoms very much. Plum blossom is a common theme in his works. He once wrote a couplet:
Red plum in the snow, red plum in the snow and Mei Xue Ying; Bamboo in the wind, bamboo in the wind.
This couplet is dynamic and vivid, just like a vivid "Zhu Mei Tu". The first pair of couplets closely follows the word "red" and the second pair closely follows the word "green". Witty words are natural and interesting, and couplets are like enjoying a painting and interesting.
Zhao Yiguang, a calligrapher in the Ming Dynasty, wrote a couplet to encourage himself, saying:
Bamboo is green after frost and fragrant before snow.
In fact, this couplet is a poem by Yu Shinan in Tang Dynasty. There are two kinds of couplets, one is written by oneself, and the other is composed of sentences selected from other people's works. This kind of couplet is called antithetical couplet, and this pair of couplets is antithetical couplet. At first glance, the couplets depict the frost and green leaves of bamboo, while the plum rain and snow smell fragrant. In fact, calligraphers take this opportunity to encourage themselves to stand upright as bamboo, noble as plum, implicit in meaning and inspiring to read.
Wang Shouzuo, a beginner in Qing Dynasty, once commented on the couplets of Jinshan Caotang and Li Anyun:
Half a window is painted with plum blossoms and the pillow is full of willows.
The first part focuses on visual painting, and the second part vividly depicts "Plum Blossom Moon" and "Willow Wind" in an auditory way. The couplets are vivid, the scenes blend, and the feelings are born from the scenery, giving people beautiful enjoyment.
There is a Dengwei Mountain in the southwest of Suzhou City. According to legend, Deng Yu, commander-in-chief at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, lived in seclusion here, hence his name Dengwei Mountain. Dengwei Mountain is a famous plum viewing resort with the reputation of "Xiang Xue Hai". The plum blossoms here are described from the perspectives of fragrance, color and quantity. Mei Wenting in Dengwei Mountain has a couplet:
Looking for the inscription on Shangqiu in the Song Dynasty, you will live in seclusion, and ten miles of plum fragrance will return to interest; Visit Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty, observe the past, fondle today's homesickness and feel the ups and downs of the surrounding mountains.
The first part, Luo Song, a native of Shangqiu in Qing Dynasty, once wrote an inscription in Dengweishan for Jiangsu Taishou. In the second part, he mentioned the imperial tablet written by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty when he was enjoying plums in Dengwei Mountain. The conjunctions skillfully use allusions to create a sense of history and increase tourists' reverie of enjoying plum blossoms.
The lonely mountain in Hangzhou is a famous scenic spot in the south of the Yangtze River. Lin Bu, a poet in the Song Dynasty, once raised cranes on this plum blossom. He never became an official or married. He thought that Plum was his wife and Crane was his son, so there was an allusion to Plum's wife, Crane. Lin Bu is a person who really loves Mei, otherwise it would be difficult to write such a famous Yongmei sentence as "The shadows are shallow and the fragrance floats at dusk". There is a link in the crane pavilion in the scenic spot:
If you ask Mei for news, you must wait for the crane to return.
The couplets are naturally appropriate, so that visitors can enjoy the couplets here, and at the same time, they can also be intoxicated by the beautiful legend of "Mei Wife Crane".
The Black Dragon Pool Scenic Area in the northern suburb of Kunming is famous for its deep water and "three different trees" of Tang Mei, white pine and famous camellia. In the Qing Dynasty, Shuozhuang once wrote a couplet praising Heilongtan saying:
There are two plum blossoms in a pool of water, and it is misty and rainy at four o'clock.
A few words tell the beauty of the Black Dragon Pool, and visitors stop to taste Mei Yinlian, which is full of interest.
Wu Changshuo, a famous painter and calligrapher in modern times, loved plum blossoms during his lifetime. After his death, he was buried in Chaoshan, a plum viewing resort in Hangzhou. Later generations wrote a couplet on the stone pillar of his tomb:
