Lindong Buddha's Name and Traditional Chinese Medicine

I stayed in Tolin Temple for nearly half a year and met many fellow initiates who benefited physically and mentally from chanting Buddhism. For me, Toringi's experience is not only a cure, but also a kind of learning. On the one hand, it is medical understanding, on the other hand, it is a learning process from strangeness to familiarity, and then to gradual practice.

I have a patient who has been sweating easily for more than ten years, several times a day. After sweating, he felt cold all over. In 20 15 years, he lost weight 10 kg, but through my hands, the effect was not great. After attending the ten-day retreat of the Million Buddha, she contacted me by phone and said that she had basically recovered from sweating, which touched me a lot. During my six months in the temple, I met no less than five patients who are prone to sweating, and only one patient was basically controlled by Chinese medicine. Out of the doctor's instinct, I have done some in-depth thinking on the names of chanting Buddha and Lin Dongfo. Now I will only discuss it from the medical point of view, in order to arouse the voices of the medical community and the United Sect. Please correct me if there is anything wrong.

The characteristics of Lindong Buddha's name are summarized as "Qing, Shun, Sadness, Ming, Miao, Miao, Harmony and Elegance" by Master Da 'an, and the eight words have their own meanings.

Clear is clean. Practicality is a general requirement, that is, to be clean and unobstructed. We Buddhists must fast and observe precepts in order to make our body and mind clean, and we can also smell and read our own nature when we recite Buddha, so as to achieve purity. If the mind and body are freed from the confusion of five desires and six dusts, the mind and body will be calm, the qi will be restrained, and the qi and blood will be soft. Therefore, this kind of purity is a natural state achieved by chanting Buddha and a state of self-harmony between yin and yang. We can see that Buddhists are very different from people in the world, because most of them are introverted, reflective and self-sufficient for a long time. However, in the world, people look beyond and pursue too much, which consumes the essence. For a long time, they have been described as withered, which is not desirable.

Smooth is smooth. It shows that when we sing, the airflow is unobstructed and there should be no obstacles. Lin Dongfo's name needs us to read it all at once, which is more difficult. Therefore, it is necessary to hold special singing teaching in temples to master the rhythm of breathing. For young people, because the internal block is not too serious, singing the name of Lin Dongfo will be easier to master, and if you can persist, you will benefit for life. Master Chang Fa mentioned in his teaching that if you can't finish singing in one breath, you can pause a beat on the word "nothing" and "mi", or take a breath on the word "tuo" before continuing to sing. But after reading the word "Buddha", you have to spit out all the breath, and then breathe deeply into Tian Dan. Dantian is a range, which refers to the area from navel to three inches below navel. Compared with normal breathing, deep inhalation into the abdomen can make the diaphragm drop a lot, promote gastrointestinal peristalsis, greatly improve gastrointestinal function, and also play the role of abdominal organs, while the rising diaphragm will play the role of oppressing chest organs.

Usually, it is difficult for us to exercise the internal organs because the muscles are rich, but abdominal breathing can do this, and long-term rhythmic pressing is very beneficial to improve the function of the internal organs. However, if the airflow is not smooth, it will produce qi stagnation and have a negative impact on the body. The key point to keep patency is to exhale first and then inhale. Many people can't breathe into the abdomen because there is phlegm resistance or blood stasis above and below the diaphragm. At this time, singers often feel that their breasts are blocked. For this problem, some traditional Chinese medicines can be used to remove phlegm and blood stasis, and the airflow can reach the abdomen. Of course, you should ask Chinese medicine for diagnosis, and you can't buy medicine and eat it indiscriminately.

Sadness is sadness. Master Da 'an quoted Master Wu Chu as saying that there are four kinds of hearts to recite Buddha. One is to be ashamed of yourself, to rob and create a sinful karma indefinitely, and to continue to create karma in this life, endlessly; The second is to have a sad heart, grieve for yourself to create karma and form karma. Although I have practiced a little Buddhism in the process of many lives and many robberies, I can't solve the problem after all, and I still suffer endless rotation here. When we think about these two points, we will be extremely sad, and then we will be sad.

This kind of sad voice is the expression of the inner heart from the past and the inner reflection. In the five internal organs, the lung qi should converge and descend, and the sad sound should be accompanied by tears, so that we can experience the compassion and salvation of the Buddha with a sad heart. Sad together, suddenly feel small, all fame and fortune disappear into the invisible, a strong heart can be tempered, and the body and mind can return to softness. People in the world will be depressed, demoralized and mentally unstable if they are immersed in great compassion for a long time, just like Lin Daiyu in a dream of red mansions. However, for Buddhist practitioners, this is not the case. The feeling of great compassion, the first is to gather the essence of the outside world, and the second is to understand the power of Buddha nature. As Master Da 'an said, a key point of Lin Dong's Buddhist name lies in the sadness of his voice, which is a concentrated expression of his feelings of leaving his mother-in-law.

Bright is sad but not hurt. That is to say, the third thing that Master Wu Chu said is to have a happy heart, and to be so happy that one can get lucky in this life. Now he smells the way to live in the pure land and knows that as long as he believes in his name, he can get a degree. Fourth, we should be grateful, that is, we should have the mentality of earnestly calling for help at the moment of grief. At this moment, we can feel the compassion of Amitabha, so we should be grateful and feel the compassion of Buddha. This is the hearty voice of chanting Buddha, sad but not hurt, reflecting a grateful and clear tone. Sadness can make qi sink in the abdomen, and the sound of sadness can make qi rise and stretch. The sound of sadness leads to Ren meridian, and the sound of sadness leads to Du meridian. Over time, Ren meridian and Du meridian are interlinked, and all diseases can be cured.

Micro is fine. The voice is subtle and more demanding. One is to inhale deeply, slowly enter the abdomen, don't be impatient, and pronounce and sing slowly. The starting tone cannot be too high or too low. It's hard to make high notes when it's high, and it's hard to make low notes when it's low, which leads to gas blockage. If the qi is not warm and impetuous, it is easy to produce internal fire, such as dry mouth and throat, difficulty in defecation, upset, and qi is soft and stagnant, which is easy to produce symptoms such as chest tightness and hypochondriac pain. Therefore, a subtle and calm voice is hard to get, and it is impossible to get it unless the gas sinks into the abdomen.

Great, great, unbelievable. From the point of view of Chinese medicine, it is incredible that long-term practice of Buddhism can make the body and mind soft, the meridians of Ren and Du are unobstructed, and there is always nectar in the mouth, which can cure all diseases. However, from the Buddhist point of view, it is even more incredible. Connecting reality with sound and breaking the sword of samsara with sound are incredible, incredible and incredible.

Harmony is harmony. One refers to its own harmony, and the other refers to its own harmony with the outside world. "The Doctrine of the Mean" said: "To achieve harmony, the status of Heaven is not good, and everything is nurtured." And "harmony" is equality, which is the highest pursuit of Chinese medicine. "Treatise on Febrile Diseases" said: "Any diseases that cause sweating, vomiting, diarrhea, blood loss, loss of body fluid and self-harmony of yin and yang will heal themselves. Self-harmony between yin and yang is a state of conforming to heaven. When you recite the name of Lindong Buddha for a long time, you will reach a sound state that is neither sad nor loud. At this time, qi and blood are in harmony, yin and yang are in love, and the inner virtue is also revealed. The mind is blissful, free from desires and desires, spotless, happy-go-lucky, able to do Buddhist work according to circumstances, in line with the four seasons, five internal organs, yin and yang, and different realms.

Elegance means elegance. To recite Buddha is to become a Buddha. Heaven and earth should be the most elegant in the world, and the voice is also elegant, which is different from the decadent voice in the secular world. How many people come to Tolingi and stop to have a look when they hear the name of Lindong Buddha. Most modern songs disturb people's mentality. The ancients said that "changing customs is not good at music", and we can hear how impetuous and chaotic people are from modern songs. Yang Huo, the Analects of Confucius, recorded that Confucius said, "It is elegant and enjoyable to hate the chaos of Zheng Sheng. In The Analects of Confucius Wei Linggong, Confucius said, "Zheng Sheng wins" and "Zheng Sheng should be released." "Rites and Music" said: "The voice of political power is also the voice of troubled times. For a time, Zheng's voice spread all over the world like a scourge, which gave birth to various inner desires. Lin Dongfo's name is undoubtedly elegant music, which has the function of reversing people's hearts and turning impetuous into calm.

Judging from these eight-character features, Lin Dongfo's name fits well with Chinese medicine. Among them, clarity, delicacy, harmony and elegance are the general requirements and the effect of integration. Huang Di Nei Jing Gu Naive Theory: "Nothing is indifferent, and the true qi follows, and God hides inside and is ill." In other words, the body and heart first have a natural state of relaxation, and if they don't rush out, then the blood will recover on its own. Over time, when the qi and blood reach a relatively full state, the spirit can be kept inside for a long time, and there will be no major turmoil due to external interference. At this time, even if you encounter serious external evils such as wind chill, summer dampness, you will have enough righteousness to compete with it, and there will be no big imbalance in your body. As the Huangdi Neijing said: "If the meat is clean, it will be closed and rejected. Although there is a strong wind, it can harm people. The name of Lindong Buddha requires the realm of "clearness, delicacy, harmony and elegance", and "sadness, smoothness, lightness and brightness" is the key.

"synopsis of the golden chamber" said: "there are thousands of difficulties and dangers, no more than three. first, it is also an internal cause to experience evil entering the viscera; Both limbs have nine orifices, which are transmitted from blood to blood and blocked by the outer skin. The atrioventricular, golden blade, insect and beast injuries of the three are listed in detail, and all diseases are exhausted. Although there are different ways to feel evil, external cause is the condition and internal cause is the key. The imbalance of human body is tendon, pulse, flesh, skin and bone, and meridians and viscera are internal. The human body is based on the five internal organs, with meridians as meridians, tendons, veins, flesh, skin and bones as a whole, which is full of qi, blood, essence and fluid. From the perspective of Buddhism, mourning requires a basic understanding of Buddhism and religious feelings. From the Taoist point of view, "man should learn from the earth, the earth should learn from heaven, heaven should learn from Tao, and Tao should be natural." "People should realize their own smallness, consult nature with an open mind and live in harmony with nature. This is the way out. Only with this understanding can the spirit return and the light shine again. Medically speaking, depression leads to depression, leading to ren meridian, which is the intersection of various yin meridians, governing yin, promoting fluid production and promoting fluid production. Light is the heart of gratitude, and the Lord ascends the Du meridian, which is the meeting of the Yang meridian, and the Lord gives birth to Yang and qi.

When chanting Buddha, the tip of the tongue touches the upper jaw, so that the two meridians of Ren and Du intersect, followed by a gentle whine and slow breathing and footwork, and soon the mouth is full of body fluid. There are two big spots under the tongue, named Jin Jin and Yu Ye. Body fluid in the mouth is produced by these two points. If this body fluid is swallowed slowly, it will supplement * * *. Over time, it will make * * * full. * * * is substantial, while Yang is produced continuously. As the Huangdi Neijing said: "Yin people hide essence and are strong, while Yang people are solid from the outside." "If you persist in this way, Ren Du will be unblocked, Ren Mai will pass through the Yin Meridian, Du Mai will pass through the Yang Meridian, and the viscera and meridians will be full, and the chronic diseases will be cured.

However, very few people really do this. Specifically, first, I am not familiar with the singing rules of Lindong Buddha's name; Second, the external conditions are immature, which greatly interferes with the body and mind; Third, the body itself is in a state of disorder.

Every time I hit the Buddha Seven, many fellow practitioners came to the Chinese pharmacy in Tolin Temple to buy Siraitia grosvenorii, Platycodon grandiflorum and raw licorice to soak in water to relieve the pain of sore throat. This is because the result of using chest breathing instead of abdominal breathing pronunciation-leading to throat inflammation, so the singing method and principle of Lindong Buddha's name have to be widely popularized.

There were many people at the 7 o'clock Buddhist ceremony, and many fellow initiates came from other places, so it was very tiring to take a boat. Many fellow initiates have different schedules, some get up early to chant Buddhist scripture, some sleep and snore, which makes many people have a bad rest. In the case that the quality of sleep cannot be guaranteed, it is difficult to survive simply by chanting Buddha, and the effect is not great.

Many people don't adapt to the body and don't actively treat them. It is not advisable to rely on Buddhism when they know nothing about the teachings. I once met a fellow initiate who suffered from chronic oral ulcer and poor sleep. How can he be in a good mood? Ulcer is a fire, which often leads to internal heat, yang deficiency, impatience and intolerance of other people's opinions. Although I stayed in the temple for seven or eight years, I still can't read Buddha.

"If a worker wants to do a good job, he must sharpen his tools first." Of course, learning and chanting Buddhism is the most important thing, but basic health care and chanting methods are indispensable. Only by mastering it flexibly can we not waste our spirit. "University" said: "Things have a beginning and an end, and things have an end and a beginning. If you know the order, you will find a shortcut. " I hope to encourage you.
