Who created Song Ti?

The culture of Song Dynasty flourished and the printing industry developed greatly. Since the Southern Song Dynasty, similar printing fonts began to appear in printing workshops in Lin 'an and other places, and later people called them imitation song style.

Literati in the Ming Dynasty sought after Song engraving, so seal engravers thickened vertical lines and strokes to resist the abrasion of seal engraving, but they still called it Song.

The so-called Song Style in modern times is basically shaped in this way. Song Dynasty began in Suzhou during Hongzhi period of Ming Dynasty, and later spread to Japan, Korea and Vietnam.

However, because this font prevailed in the Ming Dynasty and was introduced to Japan in the Ming Dynasty, Japan called it "Ming style" when it was made in the19th century, and by the middle of the 20th century, it had changed from movable type printing to phototypesetting.

Taiwan Province Province has imported photographic typesetting and related fonts from Japan, and even introduced the word "Ming style". When Taiwan Province Kang Hua Science and Technology made computer fonts in 1980s, it was also called "Ming Style".

However, in Taiwan Province Province, it is officially called "Song Style" by the Ministry of Education, so the font compiled by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan Province Province is called "Song Style Standard of the Ministry of Education". Therefore, although it is called "Ming Style" in Hongkong and "Song Style" in Taiwan Province Province, they are just different in name.
