Why are calligraphy and writing interpreted differently?

Writing is just for the sake of writing, to let others understand what you want to express. Calligraphy has more connotation. Calligraphy is not just about the surface of words, but also pursues an artistic expression.

Let’s put it in simpler terms with an example. Writing is like ordinary people eating. They eat because they are hungry and to have energy for work, without pursuing the nutrition and taste of the food. And calligraphy is like pursuing the color, smell and taste of food when eating.

For another example, let’s say wearing clothes. People whose families are not wealthy usually only care about having clothes to wear and keeping warm. People with wealthy families or celebrities must consider the feeling, artistry, and beauty of the clothes they wear.
