Grinding needle well-the main attraction of Wudang Mountain: grinding needle well
The grinding needle well is the place where the legendary Zhenwu prince was influenced by an old woman and went back to the mountains to practice hard and achieve positive results. According to legend, Zhenwu, the Prince of Pure Land, came to this temple. At first, because of his weak will, he wanted to go down the mountain and return to the customs. So far, he met an old woman who was grinding an iron pestle by the well and was very curious. He asked her what it was. The old woman replied: I want to grind it into a needle. Zhenwu was even more puzzled and asked how such a thick pestle could be ground into a fine needle. The old woman took this opportunity to enlighten her and said, "When the iron pestle is ground into a needle, the work will naturally come." Hearing this, the prince had an epiphany and went back to the mountain to practice. Finally, he ascended to heaven and became the "Zhenwu Emperor", hence the name of the grinding needle well. It was first built in the Ming Dynasty and then destroyed. It was rebuilt in the second year of Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty (AD 1852), and it was restored as before in 1984. The main building consists of three main halls for Zhenwu teenagers to sit in, and the walls are decorated with murals of Zhenwu cultivation stories. There are two iron pestles in front of the temple, about half a meter thick and high, symbolizing the pestles worn by the old woman. There is a square pavilion next to the temple. There is a well in the pavilion with a cast iron pestle. This pavilion is carved with double eaves, which is beautiful and elegant and has a unique style.

Yuxu Palace-located in the northwest of the main peak of Wudang Mountain, about 4 kilometers away from Xuan Yue Gate, the gate of Wudang Mountain, was the base camp for the large-scale construction of Wudang Mountain in that year, so it is commonly known as Laoying Palace (because Li Zicheng, the leader of the peasant uprising army, camped here in the late Ming Dynasty). The name "Seo Woo" comes from "Xu Yu Shi Xiang" written by the jade emperor Feng Zhenwu. This palace is the best of the eight Gong Er views, with more than 2,200 halls, temples, shrines, altars and halls, which are stacked one after the other, with strict layout and clear axes. Miyagi consists of three cities: Waile, Forbidden City and Li Le. There are three gates in Wailecheng, with six gates in the Forbidden City in the middle. There are two stone pavilions in front of the door with stone tablets inside. The stone tablet is more than 9 meters high and about 6 meters long. There is a dragon carved on the tablet and it weighs about 80 tons. There used to be a tinker with 500 soldiers in the orchard in the palace. Go further and you will find the gate of Li Le. The temples in the city are adjacent, including the front hall, the main hall and the parents' hall. There is Longjing in the east gate of Li Lecheng, and the existing dragon carving fence is still well preserved. After ten years of Qianlong, Yuxu Palace suffered a fire, followed by a flood in 1935, and the silt in the palace reached more than 65,438+10,000 cubic meters. Since 1994, after a large-scale dredging work, a number of cultural relics and historic sites such as Li Lecheng, Wailecheng and Tang Shifang have been rediscovered, and the ancient jade belt river, which used to be 8 meters wide, has now flowed.
Yu Xuyan is one of the large-scale and well-preserved rock temples in Wudang Mountain. According to the inscriptions in the Yuan Dynasty, this rock was the place where Xuan Di (Emperor Zhenwu) practiced, and then it soared, hence the name "the teacher of Jade Que". The existing buildings were rebuilt at the end of Qing Dynasty and during Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty.
