The word "spectacular" is carved on the rock wall in the north of Xuankong Temple. The writing is powerful and majestic, which is breathtaking. It is said that the word "spectacular" was written by Li Bai, the great poet of the Tang Dynasty. In the 23rd year of Kaiyuan of the Tang Dynasty (735), after visiting Taiyuan, Li Bai went to the Yanmen area to climb Mount Heng. When he entered the Jinlong Gorge, he was deeply attracted by the strange and dangerous architecture of the Hanging Temple. For some reason, this immortal poet He failed to leave a poem, but he wrote the word "spectacular" in his own hand on the stone cliff. In order to express his excitement, after finishing writing, he still didn't feel the emotion from his heart, so he waved his hand on the "zhuang" word. A little bit was added to "Shi", and uninformed tourists thought it was a typo written by Li Bai! With the passage of time and thousands of years of weathering, the word "spectacular" has become unrecognizable. In 1990, when the state allocated special funds to repair the Hanging Temple, the word "spectacular" was re-engraved on the cliff below the temple based on the original rubbings passed down.
