Nowadays, there are two ways to visit Wu Cheng'en's former residence. The west road runs eastward from the Li Canal levee, passes through the hometown of writers in the Han Dynasty, and passes through Zhuxiang Street from the street. The other is East Road, which starts from the northern end of Beimen Street and enters from Zhuxiang Street to the west. At the entrance of Zhuxiang Street, there is a memorial archway of "Wu Cheng'en's hometown". The archway has four pillars and three doors, and there are two couplets. This couplet was inscribed by Ma Jizhong, former vice chairman of Huai 'an City, and written by Li Xigui, a member of Jiangsu Book Association, which summarized the achievements of Wu Cheng'en's life and the historical value of his masterpiece The Journey to the West.

Wu Cheng'en's birthplace is also his parents' home. Wu Cheng'en's father, Wu Rui (146 1- 1532), named Ju Weng, is a loyal man who likes to tell stories about history and visit ancient temples in Huaidi, and often tells young Wu Cheng'en stories about folk ghosts and gods. After receiving the Xu family, she gave birth to a daughter named Wu Chengjia and married Shen Shan, a retainer of Huai 'an. After middle age, he married Zhang and gave birth to Wu Cheng'en. The East Room is the bedroom of He Xu, and the Westinghouse is the bedroom of He Zhang.
