"Wu Xing Fu" is Zhao Mengfu's favorite calligraphy work, and the content of the calligraphy was composed by himself. As far as the latter is concerned, it is extremely rare among his handed down works. According to his postscript at the end of the volume, it can be seen that this poem was written by Zhao Mengfu when he was more than 20 years old. It is his early literary representative work (later included in the first chapter of the opening volume of "Song Xuezhai Collection"). In "Wuxing Fu", the author proudly eulogized the richness and beauty of his hometown, listed the talents and celebrities of the past dynasties, and warmly praised the simple folk customs of his hometown. In the sixth year of Dade, Zhao Mengfu was 49 years old and was in charge of promoting Confucianism in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. At this time, he had been in officialdom for more than ten years. The affection for hometown is deep and the nostalgia is unforgettable. The clear and distant landscape of Wuxing haunts my heart all the time and is difficult to forget, so I created this fu into a calligraphy work. This calligraphy is written on silk, so the ink is green and moist, with warp and weft visible at times. It has an effect of pen and ink that cannot be expressed on rice paper. It is said that it is a master of Zhao's calligraphy and is rare and top-quality.
