Yan Chao’s personal profile

Yan Chao, also known as Duyi, was born in Shandong in 1963. He joined the army in 1977 and engaged in art creation in the army. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Shandong University of the Arts in 1983 and currently teaches in the Art Department of Xiamen University of Technology. He is a member of the Fujian Branch of the Chinese Artists Association, a member of the Fujian Calligraphers Association, an executive director of the Xiamen Calligraphers Association, and a painter of the Xiamen Painting Academy.

I have been passionate about painting since childhood and have been working hard for decades. Over the years, I have been engaged in university art education while devoting myself to art creation. In 1989, he held personal calligraphy and painting exhibitions in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Shaoguan, Shandong, Beijing, Hefei, Anhui, Sanya, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang and other places. His artistic creations were highly praised by experts. Television stations in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and various provinces and cities have made special reports on the exhibition. His calligraphy and painting works have been selected into many domestic and foreign calligraphy and painting exhibitions and have won many awards. Many works have been collected by the Great Hall of the People, Military Museums, and provincial and municipal art galleries.

In 1996, he was invited to hold art exhibitions and give lectures in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, and Canada, and was appointed as an honorary professor by universities in many countries.
