Why do ordinary monks become monks? To put it simply, it is to escape the world. Master Shi Mingxin resigned from his position as a civil servant and devoted himself to Buddhism. From then on, he became a carefree person. In fact, it was because he did not like the customs and people in society that were incompatible with him, so he preferred to stay away from these people and things. Yes, keep yourself clean.
Master Shi Mingxin was originally a very obedient and sensible child with good academic performance. He was born in 1980 and was admitted to the local civil service at the age of 19, ranking among one hundred The ratio of choosing one is even more surprising than that of many so-called outstanding college students.
With an iron rice bowl in hand, every day's work is nothing more than going to work at the same time and getting off work at the same time. As long as you are willing to endure it, you will be promoted to a higher level in ten years. Sooner or later, you will be an official in twenty or thirty years. However, Master Shi Mingxin was not happy. After ten years of working there, he had not been happy for ten years. He started working soon after graduating from school. Before he had time to adapt to this society and didn't know how to recognize people, he plunged into the more complicated dyeing vat.
He feels that he has to have sex with people he doesn’t like every day, he has to make himself do things he doesn’t like every day, and he has to wear a mask to cater to others every day. The intrigues in the officialdom were far more intense than he thought, and the work within the system was completely incapable of making him passionate. So in the past ten years, Shi Mingxin has lost himself. Apart from playing games, he also goes to work, eats, and sleeps. He has no idea what else he can do. He didn't even want to fall in love, thinking it was meaningless.
But everyone is in pain and must experience this pain. Therefore, Shi Mingxin's initial attitude was to let things go, and he could only be forced to accept them. Until 2006, when he heard the Buddhist scripture "Reincarnation", it was as if a door had been opened to him, and he suddenly discovered a world that truly belonged to him. He fell madly in love with Buddhism and became obsessed with it. He also had the idea of ??becoming a monk, so he secretly became a monk.
Unfortunately, his parents discovered him and took him back. In the eyes of others, he became the person who was dissatisfied, did not do his job properly, did not know what to do, and was even mentally abnormal. No one could understand why he, a grown man, suddenly wanted to become a monk.
After three years of enlightenment and persuasion, Shi Mingxin finally impressed his parents with his determination, quit his job, and officially became a monk at Miaozhi Temple in his hometown of Yongjia County. In the same year, he was admitted to the China Buddhist Academy, the most prestigious university in China, and became a Buddhist monk. He even thought about taking the postgraduate entrance examination or studying abroad after graduating from college. What everyone doesn’t know is that there are actually many things to learn in Buddhist college, not just Buddhist scriptures, but also calligraphy, tea ceremony, music, etc., and even several foreign languages. He was almost 30 years old at the time and had to start over from scratch without feeling any hardship at all.
In 2013, Master Shi Mingxin graduated from the Buddhist College and became the abbot of Pu'an Temple in Zhejiang Province. He also serves as the abbot of Maha Temple in Qinhuangdao. The big boy who was laughed at by everyone finally became the person he imagined and lived his ideal life.
