Qian Cao Biaozi Autumn Author

Reiner Maria Rilke, one of the greatest German poets of the 20th century.

This poem is written about the scene of threshing millet after harvest in autumn, which means to beat out the rice grains to express the author's joy of harvest and praise of labor.

Summer used to be grand. Cast your shadow on the sundial and let the autumn wind blow across the fields. Let the last fruits grow plump, give them another two days of southern climate, force them to ripen, and pour the last sweetness into strong wine.
