Exchange two or three things with Mr. Ding Yumin

1986 In September, I saw an essay notice in Guichi Daily, the predecessor of Chizhou Daily, soliciting articles by Li Bai and Qiu Pu. I started writing the short story "The New and Old Helmsman", and soon received a letter from Mr. Ding Yumin, editor of the supplement. The letter was written in small letters with a brush. Teacher Ding praised my manuscript very much and said that my short story would be published as the finale of the essay. Not long after, I received another letter from him. He warmly invited me to meet him in the newspaper and have a talk. This letter is accompanied by a sample newspaper that publishes my short stories. In the place where the sample newspaper supplement was stamped with the official seal of the newspaper, Teacher Ding wrote the small words "Comrade Chen" with a brush.

At that time, as an enthusiastic young artist, I couldn't wait for Mr. Ding's invitation. The day after I received the letter, I rode my bike to the newspaper to find Miss Ding. At that time, Mr. Ding was in his fifties, short and thin. My first impression is that he is warm, polite, gentle and elegant. During the conversation, he repeatedly affirmed my writing skills and encouraged me to read more books, observe more and accumulate more when I have time, so that I can write with my heart. He thinks that as long as I persist, I can embark on the road of literary creation.

From then on, I became friends with Teacher Ding and kept close contacts. He often invites me to his house. I met many people in Chizhou literary and art circles in his home, and the one who impressed me most was Mr. Cao Qiqi, an old calligrapher (Mr. Cao was born in 1928, retired in 1989 and died in 20 1 1). Mr Cao and Mr Ding are five years old. It is interesting that none of us know how to drink. Mr. Ding was polite, saying that we would have no atmosphere if we didn't drink some wine, so he took out a bottle of red wine (dry red had not been seen at that time, much lower than white wine). While we were drinking and chatting, Mr. Cao looked at the cursive word "Fu" on the bottle label from time to time and wrote it by hand. I still remember that scene clearly.

My longest contact with Mr. Ding was from April 29th to May 3rd. 1989. Before, he asked me to take me to Yang Zhaowu, director of Hexing Village in Jiefang Township, and asked me to write a communication report with him. The specific content will be determined after on-site investigation and interview. As he is a friend of Director Yang, we brought some gifts. They got off at Langhe in Jiefang Township by bus and walked about four or five kilometers to Director Yang's house. Climbing all the way, the altitude difference was several hundred meters. When they got to Director Yang's house, they were already sweating. The first time I walked into a mountain farm, I felt that Director Yang's house was so big, I'm afraid it was as big as the village auditorium, and it was not a problem to live 80 people. The local people in that place are called Xiaofuling, which is rich in bamboo and looks at a sea of bamboo. Adjacent to du cun Township, Qingyang County, there is a long-standing dispute between the two places due to the dispute of mountain boundary. Not long ago, there was another large-scale fight between villagers in the two places, which was very tragic and no one died. After investigation and interview, Mr. Ding intends to ask me to write an exchange report entitled "Why can't a good day be better?" After the completion of the first draft, Mr. Ding thought twice, considering that the negative impact after the publication of the report may be great, which will have adverse social impact. Finally, he and I discussed whether to give up. Just in time for the continuous spring rain in those days, Shan Yu washed the road, and the bus was not easy to come in. I can't go back, so I'll eat and live there. When I came back, Director Yang was polite, and each person gave out two kilograms of self-produced tea.

Mr. Ding is not only the director and editor-in-chief of newspaper supplement department, but also a member of China Popular Literature Research Association, China Li Bai Research Association and Anhui Branch of Chinese Writers Association. In 2008, he was selected by China Celebrity Magazine. He is the author of more than ten books, including Li Bai's Visit to Qiupu, Eternal Xinghua Village and Eternal Famous Village Shimengao. Teacher Ding sent me many books, such as Li Bai's Journey to Autumn Pu, which I read carefully. Knowing Mr. Ding's background, I can understand why Mr. Ding has a special liking for my article "New and Old Helmsman". This short story is about a Chinese teacher who retired from a middle school and made the village think of Qiupu River Ferry managed by the village to volunteer as a helmsman. He grew up by the Qiupu River when he was very young. He knows water and can row a boat. He said that Li Bai was a foreigner, went to Qiupu five times and wrote seventeen famous Qiupu songs. As a native, I should continue to write Qiupu songs with practical actions. Because Mr. Ding is an expert on Li Bai's tour of Qiupu, I met my little bosom friend.

Mr. Ding 1933 was born in Yixing, Jiangsu Province. 1950 participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, worked as a war correspondent in the Korean battlefield, and changed jobs in the army in the early 1960s. He worked as an editor in Zhenfeng magazine and Chizhou newspaper successively. He retired in 193 and fell ill in July of 20 12.
