Mr Chen Shiguang was born in a scholarly family, and his father Chen Zuji was one of the first librarians in central research institute of culture and history. Shi Guang was influenced by the traditional art of calligraphy and painting in China since he was a child. He likes to write and draw. In recent years, on the basis of some achievements in western painting, he turned to China's painting and calligraphy. He borrowed the knowledge of color and modeling structure from western painting and integrated it into Chinese painting creation. Coupled with the attainments of calligraphy and the meaning of China's traditional painting, his works are unique and refreshing. Starting from his hobbies and ideals, Chen Shiguang chose animals as his artistic objects. Use animals to convey their thoughts, feelings and aesthetic ideals, and at the same time use dynamic animals to exert their artistic skills. For some time, Shi Guang painted many lovely dogs and horses in liger. The creatures in his works are vivid and have their own personalities: cattle are kind and sincere, dogs are loyal and intelligent, and lions are alert and invincible. Even the fierce tigers in his works have become affectionate, gentle and kind, losing their tiger nature and humanity. His description of the animal world reflects his love for the human world and his praise for life. In the end, Shi Guang chose to paint horses specially.

In the real life of human beings, horses have made the greatest contribution to history. It is a powerful pillar of national stability and a symbol of strong national strength. Therefore, kings of all dynasties have loved horses since ancient times. There were as many as 400,000 horses in the royal stables in the Tang Dynasty, so there were many famous horse painters in the Tang Dynasty, including Cao Ba, Chen Hong, Wei Yan and Han Gan, especially Han Gan, who made the most outstanding achievements and had the greatest influence on later generations. His famous saying of "learning from a real horse" is still relished by painters. Since then, Li in the Song Dynasty, Ren Renfa in the Yuan Dynasty and Xu Beihong in modern times have become household names. Painters of different times live in horses with different spirit of the times: Han Gan's horses are vigorous and docile, with strong bones and plump muscles, which not only show the powerful spirit of the times in the Tang Dynasty, but also have the invincible momentum of the gods; Xu Beihong's "Running Horse" means "the mountains and rivers return to democracy after hundreds of battles, and the rugged road is razed to the ground"; On the basis of inheriting the achievements of predecessors, Shi Guang's "Horse" pays attention to the unrestrained spirit and the integration of Chinese and Western painting methods. He painted with calligraphy, shaped his body with ink, and made full use of the permeability of Xuan paper. When writing, he is smart and unrestrained, does not deliberately seek work, does not pay attention to the integrity and truth of details, pays special attention to the dynamic expression of horses, and strives to pursue the freedom of horses. Make the viewer feel relaxed and happy.

His paintings of Ben Ma Rufeng are consistent in black and white and realistic. Painters attach great importance to image-building, which makes the image of a horse full of strength and volume. The layout of the picture is dominated by horses, full of picture space, making full use of the blank on the limited picture to reproduce the infinite and far-reaching realm, and the galloping horse has the potential to rush out of the picture; It can be seen that the spirit of human pursuit of freedom is rapid and unstoppable. 1994 10, Chen Shiguang, head of the delegation, led a "Jiangsu Artists Delegation" to visit Russia. From June 65438 to June 0997, at the invitation of the New England Art Society and the China Art Museum in Ontario, Canada, Chen Shiguang went to the United States and Canada to hold touring performances and lectures, and was hired as an art consultant by the New England Art Society in Boston, USA. Jiangsu TV Station broadcasted Chen Shiguang's feature film Love Bell Painting and Calligraphy, Art Merges Chinese and Western in "Big Vision-People". 1March, 1998, at the invitation of Bahrain's Ministry of Culture, Chen Shiguang went to Bahrain's National Art Center to hold a solo exhibition.
