What to learn in the course
Chinese painting mainly learns some more traditional things, such as "Chinese Painting Theory 9", "Figure Painting", "Landscape Painting", "Flower and Bird Painting", "Calligraphy and Seal Engraving" ", "Chinese and Foreign Art History Q", "Chinese Classical Poetry", etc. In college, the major of Chinese painting mainly studies the basic knowledge and skills of composition, layout, color matching, painting techniques and other aspects of Chinese painting.
Teaching in the first and second years of college is a basic course study, mainly learning to master traditional painting techniques and learning some basic exercises.
In the junior year, students can study in four majors: ink figures, fine brushwork figures, landscapes, and flowers and birds (students voluntarily choose the major).
I entered the studio in my senior year and studied under the guidance of studio instructors.
Where to find employment
1. You can go to a game company. Now there are some domestic game companies that favor pure art majors, such as Perfect World. You just need to know software like Maya and ZBrush. My friend asked about Perfect World’s entry criteria before, and Perfect World told me that only pure art majors are required.
2. You can work as a teacher in a school. Whether it is a studio or a formal teacher, you can be guaranteed to have at least 3 months of freedom a year. And don’t think teachers make less. Once a teacher who has graduated from pure arts has some "private work". Income is still very objective.
3. If you know some design software, you can also engage in Chinese style design. Or if there are some national institutions that correspond to your degree, you can give it a try.
Personal experience
You have to prepare a bunch of plates for class. You don’t use much paint, but you need to mix a lot of water.
It takes several months to paint a meticulous painting, and several freehand paintings a day.
The ink used on the first day cannot be retained for the next day. It is called ink retention. You need to buy a fully open drawing board. You must be particularly careful when drawing and tracing lines. If the tracing is damaged, you cannot change it. However, It can be washed with water, but the effect may be compromised. After tracing the lines, you need to frame them with water, newspaper strips and paste. These require a lot of patience and patience.
There are still many people who look down on the Chinese painting profession and accept the prejudices of others. But if you really like Chinese painting, then why care about what others think? After all, you are the one who likes to do it, and others just express their opinions based on their preferences. This opinion does not come from your own inner judgment and choice.
