Liu Gongquan's calligraphy is steady but not vulgar, dangerous but not strange, old but not withered, moist but not fat, harmonious and charming. Most horizontal paintings are round, rigid, clear, short, thick, slender and handsome.
Vertical painting is vigorous, stiff, slender, concise and firm, sharp, heavy and slightly short, kicked up and cleaned with a pen. Tang Wuzong was angry with a female official in the palace for a long time. Later, he called her in and said to Liu Gongquan, "I am very dissatisfied with this person. 2. Take the pen as a warning
Tang Muzong is dissolute and eccentric in management. He once asked Liu Gongquan how to use a pen perfectly. Liu Gongquan replied: "The method of using a pen lies in the heart, and the regular brushwork is naturally perfect." Mu Zong changed his face and realized that he was admonishing him with brushwork. In the Song Dynasty, Su Shi once said in a poem, "Why do you want to see sincerity when you preach family law in a hurry?"
