Yun Xiang is eight years younger than Yongzheng, and they grew up together. Yun Xiang's arithmetic was taught by Yongzheng himself. Whenever Emperor Kangxi visited the Great Wall, the two brothers who were followers were inseparable. Even if they are separated for a short time, the two brothers will write to each other. When they were princes, the two brothers not only shared the same interests, but also shared the same interests. Yongzheng loved calligraphy and had a quick mind. Yun Xiang also writes poems, and his calligraphy and painting are excellent. They have the same political position. In the brutal battle for storage, all the princes, regardless of brotherhood, clashed with each other and wanted to kill each other. Even Yun Yun, the elder brother of female compatriots in Yongzheng, ran to support Yun Yun, a snobbish prince. Only Yun Xiang has been faithfully on the side of Yongzheng. As the saying goes, a friend in need is a friend indeed. Yongzheng is full of gratitude to his thirteenth brother who has always supported him. In Yongzheng's mind, Yun Xiang's position was extraordinary. Yongzheng is willing to give anything precious to Yun Xiang.
Yun Xiang was born intelligent and highly valued by Kangxi. It's a pity that Yun Xiang was innocent when he abolished the Prince for the first time, so he fell out of favor with Kangxi and was never reused by Kangxi. On the second day of Kangxi's death, Yongzheng acceded to the throne and appointed Yun Xiang as the Minister of Prime Minister Affairs and made him the Prince of Heshuoyi. In the early years of Yongzheng, Yun Xiang helped Yongzheng to quickly consolidate the imperial power with extraordinary wisdom and became the most effective helper for Yongzheng to govern the country. Whether it is financial management, production, military, diplomacy, sacrifice, etc. Yongzheng completely entrusted to him. These things are very complicated and difficult to deal with, but Yun Xiang did everything so well that Yongzheng praised his meticulous compromise, which was in line with my heart. Even in private life, Yongzheng was inseparable from Yun Xiang. According to the court affairs records of the Qing Dynasty Interior Office, Yun Xiang was not only responsible for the production of court pigments and enamels, but also told court painters how to paint, presided over the publication of maps and carved precious seals of Yongzheng. Even the life part is taken care of by Yongzheng. For example, Yongzheng thought that the lights in the palace were not well done and the glasses needed to be modified by craftsmen. These are all arranged by Yunxiang. Yongzheng asked Yun Xiang to supervise the production of palace utensils because the two brothers had a lot in common in aesthetic taste. Today, we see many works of art in Yongzheng period, such as lacquerware, enamel, porcelain, calligraphy and painting. Very delicate and elegant. It can be seen that the aesthetic taste of Yongzheng and Yun Xiang is very high. Out of full trust in Yun Xiang, Yongzheng sometimes asked Yun Xiang to handle some things within the scope of the emperor's duties, such as hunting beyond the Great Wall. In the early Qing Dynasty, several emperors made them themselves. Yongzheng years, because don't like hunting, Xia Yun.
For Yongzheng, Yun Xiang was both a younger brother and a courtier. As an emperor, what I fear most is that ministers are highly responsible for his work. Since Yun Xiang was so capable, Yongzheng, who was suspicious by nature, didn't doubt him, but trusted him more. The answer lies in the above picture of Ge Zhichuan's migration. Ge Zhichuan saw through the world of mortals, abandoned wealth, lived in seclusion in Luofu Mountain, Guangdong Province, and devoted himself to practicing alchemy. The picture shows Ge Zhichuan leading his family to move to Luofu Mountain. It depicts a way of life beyond the world, which is exactly what Yun Xiang yearns for. Yun Xiang has great talent. When he was valued by Emperor Kangxi, he had a high enthusiasm for politics. However, after he was implicated in the Crown Prince incident, he fell out of favor with Kangxi. After more than ten years, no one cares, and people are warm and cold. Yun Xiang despised the imperial power and wealth, and showed a life state beyond the common customs. Yun Xiang once wrote in Ge Zhichuan's "Migration Map", "When the dust comes and goes, you know that the mountains and rivers are clear." This ideal of longing for the joy of mountains and rivers coincides with the indifference and tranquility shown by Yuanmingyuan before Yongzheng ascended the throne. From the boats created by Yongzheng and painters of the same period, we can see the couplets of the last three words "Yin Qing" written by Yongzheng himself. Judging from the content, this couplet is probably one of two poems written by Yun Xiang to Yongzheng. As if mountains and rivers meet bosom friends, two brothers know each other. It's a pity that they were born in an imperial family, and this way of life is beyond their reach. So I had to look for spiritual comfort from landscape paintings like The Beauty Map.
Knowing this, it is of great significance to taste the migration map that Yongzheng gave to Ge Zhichuan. On the one hand, Yongzheng evokes Yun Xiang's fond memories of the past with Ge Zhichuan's story of seclusion in Luofu Mountain. On the other hand, he seems to be subtly suggesting to Yunxiang that they once saw through the world of mortals together and regarded glory as a cloud. Actually don't need yongzheng remind, Yun Xiang did a good job. Although he is in a high position, he is humble and respectful everywhere. At the same time, he used a forbearing lifestyle to imply that Yongzheng himself posed no threat to anyone. Because of this, Yongzheng, who is suspicious by nature, will trust him and rely on him.
It's a pity that Yun Xiang died young, because he contracted too many government affairs, which led to his poor health. When he was seriously ill, he still insisted on dealing with heavy affairs. After exploring the cemetery for Yongzheng, he finally fell ill. He died in 1730, at the age of 44. Yongzheng was deeply saddened by the death of his thirteenth brother Yun Xiang. Although he was very ill, he went to pay homage several times. You know, Yongzheng was a diligent emperor. When his queen died, he was too busy with government affairs to attend the memorial service in person. For the death of Brother Thirteen, Yongzheng seemed to feel pain, sadness and even out of control for the first time, so that he could not face the court for three days. Yongzheng put a glass snuff bottle close to his body in order to quell his yearning for Yun Xiang, as an unforgettable memory. When Yongzheng was seriously ill, he felt that his time had come. Yongzheng specially arranged three things to bring into the inner coffin. Besides what my great-grandmother and father gave me, there is also an important thing, which is Yun Xiang's relic glass snuff bottle.
