Badashanren's calligraphy creation can be divided into five periods: first, the biography period, mainly studying Ou Yangxun; Second, one mountain period, mainly starting from Dong Qichang; Third, the donkey period mainly studied Huang Tingjian and Yi heming. In the early stage of the Fourth and Eighth National Congress, after learning the brushwork of Zhong You, Wang Xizhi and Yan Zhenqing, he formed a unique style with strange fonts, but his pen was too hard. In the late period of the Fifth and Eighth National Congress, the two styles were parallel. One is the further development of the painter's calligraphy in the early stage of the Eighth National Congress, which is becoming more and more mellow and muddy, focusing on hanging elbows for bald writing, not seeking similarity but being extremely simple and vigorous. The other is a small script, which is close to Wang Chong in Ming Dynasty, hiding the head and protecting the tail, and its style is quite quiet. Biographical works can be found in the preface and postscript of Sketch Biography. Fiona Fang has both a pen and a pen, and his strength is great and steep, and his statutes are strict, which is obviously better than Ou Yangxun's method.
