Similarity between Jianghuai Bamboo Slips and Northwest Bamboo Slips

Calligraphy of bamboo slips in Han Dynasty can be divided into Jianghuai bamboo slips and Northwest bamboo slips.

Jianghuai Han bamboo slips are Western Han bamboo slips unearthed in the Yangtze River and Huaishui River basins in China. Such as bamboo slips and silk books unearthed from Yinque Mountain in Linyi, Shandong, Mawangdui in Changsha, Hunan and Lianyungang, Jiangsu. Most of the contents are ancient books, such as Lao Zi written by Ma Wangdui and Sun Bin's Art of War written by Li Shan. Their writers have a certain cultural accomplishment, simple and steady style of writing, and various pen structures.

Northwest Han bamboo slips refer to Han bamboo slips in arid areas in northwest China, such as Xinjiang, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia and Qinghai. There are chronological works in Han bamboo slips in northwest China, including official script, Cao Zhang script and regular script. A large number of works are official. Most of these works are from the hands of middle-and lower-level officials and soldiers stationed in the frontier, with changeable pens, addicted to painting and natural interest.
