The Legend of Dazong Lake

In ancient times, Dazong Lake was once a bustling area called Jincheng, which was submerged because of its sudden sinking. Dongjincheng was very prosperous in ancient times. In this city, there is a young man named Zongbaozi. Because the family is poor and there is an old mother in her 70 s, the burden of life falls on him. Zongbaozi makes tofu for a living, sells tofu in the street every day, and passes by the entrance of an ancestral temple as a study when he goes home. There are a pair of stone lions on both sides of the door, and there is a biscuit stall next to the stone lions. He always wants to buy some biscuits and fried dough sticks to take to his mother, and he also has something to eat. This spirit of filial piety touched a fairy in the sky, who came down to earth and waited for Zongbaozi to pass by in front of the stone lion.

On this day, Zong Baozi went to Shishi and bought sesame oil sticks. The fairy family stopped him, bought all his tofu, and immediately said, "Zong Baozi, you are a very filial person. There will be a flood here. You should go to the stone lion every day to see if his eyes are red. If it is, the flood is coming, so you should run for your life with your mother on your back. This Xiangcheng will be flooded. " The fairy family said it was gone. Although Zong Baozi was surprised by this, he thought that the old man was a fairy family and could not say anything wrong. So, he carried the tofu burden to the stone lion every day to see if its eyes were red.

This incident was seen by the students who came to study and asked Zong Baozi why he was in a daze in front of Shishi. Zong Baozi said this honestly. Hearing this, the students burst out laughing. "Will the eyes of stone lions be red?" "Are you crazy?" When Zongbaozi heard the students laughing at him, he took the burden and went home.

The next day, a naughty student stole Mr. Wang's cinnabar pen, walked up to the lion and painted his eyes red to see what Zongbaozi would do when he saw it. As usual, Zongbaozi walked up to the stone lion and took a look at his eyes. He was surprised when he saw this. Shishi's eyes were arranged, so he put down his baggage, flew home, picked up his mother and ran. Sure enough, there was a loud noise between heaven and earth, and it was windy and rainy. Thunder and lightning only heard the sound of water behind them. Zongbaozi ran and ran behind his mother's back. It was very stormy, and he just ran out of breath. At this point, a big carp jumped over his mother and son's head. When he looked again, Dongjincheng disappeared, only to see a big mud chopping block at his mother's foot, and the front of the chopping block turned into a lake. Looking at the white lake and the fish and shrimp jumping all over the lake, the mother and son settled on this mound and made a living by fishing and catching shrimp. Since then, Dongjin City has become a great longitudinal lake, and the place where Zong Baozi settled is now Zongbaozhuang (the village faintly visible in the southeast of the lake is Zongbaozhuang, which is Bao Zhong Town in Xinghua). There is also a folk song circulating here: "Women don't marry Zongbaozhuang, but there is a swing in front of the lake behind them, but it doesn't sink,' pong' doesn't' pong', and a big wave lifts the back eaves, so it is difficult to move without a boat, and it is difficult to see across the lake."

Legend of Zhenhu Tower

Legend has it that in ancient times, this great lake was very restless. After years of drought and flood, the people are miserable. I don't know which year, there was an earthquake and countless houses collapsed. Occasionally, an old man with white hair and a beard passes by here. Seeing its bleak scene, he pointed to a boa constrictor under this big lake, coiled around the lake, trying to make a positive result and go to the East China Sea to become a dragon. However, it is very restless. It can often suck up a trickle in one breath and spit it out, making the lake all over the sky. To be peaceful, a five-story pagoda must be built seven inches away from the snake head in the southeast of the lake. The local people thought it was a touch of the gods, so they found skilled craftsmen to build the tower day and night. It happened that the craftsman who built the tower was surnamed Zheng, so people called this section Zhenhu Tower. Later, the python could not bear the torture of the gods and forced to swim eastward. On the way, the python's stomach was pierced by a sword thorn on the back of a mandarin fish. The python did not swim to the East China Sea and died in a sea of blood. The place where the python swam turned into a big river. This river is the Mang Snake River, and the legend of the Python River is still circulating among the people.

The Legend of longxing temple

Longxing temple, formerly known as Long Xing 'an, is located in the southeast of Northern Song Zhuang (now the seat of Dazong Lake House), next to Dongzha Bridge on Chaoyang River. According to legend, in the early autumn of the fourth year of the Ming Dynasty (1625), a wandering monk in Wutai Mountain, Shanxi Province, carrying a manjusri bodhisattva with long legs and holding a board in one hand, went all the way to the South China Sea to practice. One day, I stopped at the Northern Song Village on the north bank of Dazong Lake. At night, I suddenly saw a giant Buddha sitting on the top of the lotus in the lotus pond southeast of Zhuang. When he woke up, it was early in the morning. When the monk came to the southeast of Zhuang, he saw a lotus pond with four or five acres and five small ditches extending in all directions. After reading it, the monk thought, this place is really a treasure. If you fill up the lotus pond and build a temple, won't it become a pearl of the five dragons? ! Wonderful! Wonderful! I had a dream at night. Did the gods enlighten me? I immediately found out that the owner of the lotus pond was Song Fulong, the rich man of the 13th ancestor of the Northern Song Dynasty. He explained to Song: "I will never practice in the East China Sea again. I will build a temple on the lotus pond for the world to practice. I want to get married with you today, and I hope you will give up the lotus pond. " The master promised to give a few acres of lotus fields to build a temple. Since then, monks have been collecting soil to fill the pond. Day after day, the shoulder grinds out a "flesh sore", and it continues. After the pier was selected, the monk bought wood with money, imitated the shape of Nanhai Temple, struck the foundation with wooden stakes, and built the longxing temple. According to the genealogy of the Song Dynasty written by Zhuang Meifutang in the Northern Song Dynasty, Yi Shi wrote in calligraphy: "Because of the name longxing temple, its meaning covers all the ups and downs." Later, it was renamed "longxing temple". There are 35 tile-roofed houses in Longxing 'an, with the front and back halls as the main body, followed by the Tibetan Scripture Building. The front hall is Wei Tuo Hall, the back hall is Daxiong Hall, and the east and west sides are East Lock stable and West Lock stable. Upstairs stood a red wooden horse and a black wooden horse. It is said that people often come out to steal crops at night and then nail them on their feet to get peace. There are two wings on both sides of this big temple. Apart from providing accommodation for Buddhists, there are two Li Tang, one called Tongshantang and the other called Yixing Hall. Buddhists call it "reasonable". Anyone who participates in Buddhism should quit smoking and drinking, abstain from sexual desire, learn meditation and practice in these two courses. There is a roadway on the east side of the east wing of the Great Temple, and there are two other buildings on the east side of the roadway, with Wenchang Pavilion in front and Kuixing Building behind. There is a small garden in the courtyard between the front hall and the back hall, which is full of sycamore, ginkgo and bamboo, with a winding path leading to a secluded place. In the middle of the yard, there is a Zhangyuding incense burner, and there is a stone not far from it. This stone won't sink in the water, but people can't move it. Monks put it in front of a fairy stone and sat on it to cut a fever scar. Later, people called this stone "Qiu Jieshi".
