Who was the last number one scholar in my country’s imperial examination system?

Liu Chunlin was born in a poor family and studied at Lianchi Academy. In the 29th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1903), Liu Chunlin and his brother Liu Chuntang went to Beijing to participate in the examination organized by the Ministry of Rites. In this examination, Liu Chuntang won the Jinshi, but Liu Chunlin lost his reputation. After failing the exam, Liu Chunlin stayed in the capital and made a living by copying. Because of his outstanding calligraphy in Guange style, he was appreciated by Cixi. Liu Chunlin was called upon to copy "Wenchang Emperor Yin Zhi Wen" and other scriptures for Cixi many times. The following year, it was the seventh birthday of the Empress Dowager Cixi. As usual, Jiachen Enke is added. Liu Chunlin took part in the joint examination again and achieved a good result of 17th place. Immediately afterwards, he passed the imperial examination and was selected as the number one scholar. In the second year after Liu Chunlin won the first prize (1905), Empress Dowager Cixi abolished the imperial examination system based on the suggestions of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Zhang Zhidong and others. Then, in 1911, the Revolution of 1911 broke out, the Qing Dynasty fell, and the imperial examination system completely disappeared. Therefore, Liu Chunlin became the last number one scholar in the history of our country.
