This painting was made in the 21st year of Qianlong (1756) for the eightieth birthday of Liu's mother Bian Taijun. There are many works handed down, among which Zhu is the most common theme and painting. The dimensions of this painting are 184cm in the vertical direction and 93cm in the horizontal direction. Such a large-scale masterpiece is extremely rare in Zheng Banqiao's paintings. Its position in the history of painting and its influence on later generations are second to none. This work was included in the Catalogue of Ancient Paintings and Calligraphy in China.
Among the "Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou" in Qing Dynasty, Zheng Banqiao's deeds are the most widely known and household names. His paintings and poems are first-class. He loves mountains and rivers and travels with literati. My favorite painting themes are bamboo, stone and orchid, which are majestic and lively. Calligraphy created its own "six and a half books", which is called "Banqiao style". He mixed regular script in the form of official script and created this font between official script and more official script. Because official script is also called "Eight Points", Zheng Banqiao jokingly called his non-official script "Six Points and Half Books".
