Wang Cizhong was born in Shanggu (now southeast of Huailai County, Hebei Province) and was a calligrapher in Qin Dynasty. When he was a child, he was smart, ambitious, well-read and good at independent thinking. When he was in his teens, his knowledge had reached a mature stage. At that time, people generally used Qin Zhuan with slender structure and very even spacing between strokes. This kind of font is complicated and difficult to write, needless to say, it is used by the people. The government officials alone lament the accumulation of official documents and the slow approval. Wang Ci-zhong, who was nearly weak in years, knew the necessity of writing reform, so he collected all kinds of Zhong Ding utensils and imperial scripts extensively, copied them, arranged them together according to the same characters and different shapes, and then compared them with each other, pondered them over and over again. After hundreds of sleepless nights, he finally created a set of "eight-part books" with twists and turns, which were divided to the left and right.
Wang Cizhong played these words on the court. After Qin Shihuang saw it, he thought it was "simple and convenient, and it was used for urgent diseases", and he quite agreed. He recruited Wang Cizhong to be an official in Xianyang, the capital. Write chapters and decrees. However, Wang Ci-zhong's lofty nature and three refusals to the imperial edict angered Qin Shihuang. Qin Shihuang thought he was disrespectful to himself, so he sent someone to Beijing in a prison car. Wang Cizhong knew that his life would be in danger if he disobeyed the decree, so he took advantage of the jailer's unprepared and threw himself into the river. However, the "eight-point book" created by Wang Cizhong has become popular and benefited future generations.
Second, the son-in-law of the East Bed
There is a big tomb on the Lushan Mountain facing Weishan Island across the water. There is a unified stone tablet in front of the tomb, which reads: "Tomb of Chi Jian, the Taiwei of the Eastern Jin Dynasty", written by Wang Xizhi, a great calligrapher of the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
Chi Jian is a native of Jinxiang county. When he was a teenager, his family was poor, and he couldn't even eat. He was intelligent and studious, and with his virtuous personality, he was famous for his elegance. Everyone wanted him to become famous, so they volunteered to donate food and money to help him, so he studied hard and kept forging ahead, and soon he was all-rounder. When Si Marui, Emperor of the Yuan Dynasty in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, became emperor, Chi Jian was named General Long Xiang and Yanzhou Secretariat. Later, when Si Mashao ascended the throne, he was promoted to be the general of Dongqi, supervising the military affairs of Xu, Yan and Qing. During the reign of Xianhe, Chi Jian made great contributions to the rebellion by order, and made him Qiu. In the imperial court, in addition to the civilian prime minister Wang Dao, he is the military attache Qiu.
Chi Jian has a daughter who is twenty-eight years old. She is born with talent and looks good, and Ji Jian loves her like the apple of her eye. My daughter is not married yet, so I have to choose a husband for her. Such a baby has to find a suitable family. Chi Jian felt that Wang Dao, the prime minister, had a deep friendship with himself, and he was an official at the same dynasty. He heard that there were many children in his family, all of whom were beautiful in talent and appearance. One day after the early morning, Chi Jian told Prime Minister Wang about his idea of choosing a husband. Prime Minister Wang said, "Well, there are many children in my family, so you can choose at home. I agree with whoever you like." Chi Jian ordered his confidant housekeeper to take a heavy gift to Prime Minister Wang's house. When the children of Wangfu heard that Xi Taiwei sent someone to find a husband, they all dressed up carefully and came out to meet each other. Looking around, one person was missing. The Wangfu housekeeper led the Longfu housekeeper to the study of the East Lateral Court, and found a young man lying on his back on the bed near the east wall, indifferent to Qiu's seeking a husband. When the housekeeper of Xi's mansion returned to the mansion, she said to Xi Taiwei, "When I heard that Xi's mansion was looking for a husband, there were more than 2 young sons in the mansion, and they were all scrambling for each other. Only one son was lying on the east bed, and nothing happened." Chi Jian said: "This is the kind of person I want to choose. Go and show me!" When Chi Jian came to Wangfu, he saw that this man was both open-minded and elegant, with both talents and looks. He got a dowry on the spot and chose him as his son-in-law. This is how the saying "the son-in-law in the east bed" came about.
Wang Xizhi, the "son-in-law", later became a famous calligrapher, and was later called "the sage of books".
Besides, when Chi Jian was seriously ill in his later years, he told his family, "I have always respected the sons of the benevolent, Zhang Liang of the wise and Mu Yi of the military elite. Not far from their graves, there is a beautiful hill, which is located between Xu (state) and Yan (state). It has served for me for a long time, and I was buried here after my death." Wang Xizhi also wrote an inscription for his father-in-law. Later, this nameless hill was called "Li Mountain".
