Illustration of jujing bridge
jujing bridge is an east-west three-hole stone arch bridge. Originally built in the 19th year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (154), it has been 473 years since. Formerly known as Guijing Bridge. Turtle, an ancient mascot, is even called crane, which means that turtle and crane are in the same spring, and it is a symbol of longevity. Later, according to its homonym, the local people refined into today's name. Jujing Bridge was renovated in the 26th year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty (1598), only about 6 years after its initial construction, and the bridge we see today was left behind at that time. Later, it was repaired in the eleventh year of Kangxi (1672) and the twenty-third year of Daoguang (1843), and it has been more than 16 years since the last repair. These repairs have a long time interval, which is related to the continuous improvement of technological skills. All the repairs have left a vigorous calligraphy inscription on the bridge column, so that people can know the history of the rise and fall of Jujing Bridge. The stone pillar in the south of Qiaodong is engraved with "Emperor Jiajing Gengzi" and the north is engraved with "Qing Daoguang Guimao"; In the south of the west, it is engraved with "The Year of the Hundred Days of Emperor Ming Wanli" and "The Year of Emperor Kangxi Renzi" in the north. The "Fenghua County Records Building" compiled during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty has the following records: "Jujing Bridge, formerly known as Kamei Bridge. Ming Jiajing Gengzi was built, rebuilt in Wanli, Zhu Zhifan's book amount, Kangxi eleven years, Qianlong three years rebuilt, Daoguang twenty-three years repaired. " And the inscription on the stone pillar can be mutually verified. The bridge names written by Zhu Zhifan are engraved on the foreheads of the bridges on the north and south sides. Zhu Zhifan, a native of Nanjing, was a scholar during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. He was once an assistant minister of the official department and was a famous painter and calligrapher at that time. Zhu Zhifan is an official in Beijing. Why did he write the title for Jujing Bridge thousands of miles away? There are nothing more than two Fenghua people to pull strings. One is Wang Wei (? -1566), once the director of Nanjing Ministry of Industry, and later the doctor of punishments; One is Wang E (1462-1544), a famous landscape painter, who painted in the court and had contacts with Zhu Zhifan. It is still difficult to verify who he is.
