1989 10 held a solo exhibition at the Daris National Exhibition Hall in Bucharest, Romania, at the invitation of the Romanian Ministry of Culture. 1990 held a solo exhibition in Athens, Greece in May, and his works were exhibited in several major cities in Greece.
In June 2000, when Mr. Zhu Rongji, former Prime Minister of People's Republic of China (PRC), visited six European countries, Mr. Zhang Xilong's Quiet Mountain City was presented to Bulgarian Speaker sokolov as a national gift by Premier Zhu Rongji. Another work, National Colors and Scenes, was collected by the EU headquarters.
In September 2002, Mr Zhang Xilong held solo exhibitions in Eastern Europe, Moldova and Chisinau, the capital of China.
