Introduction to the event:
Zhenjiang, Yangzhou and Huai 'an are chosen as travel destinations for this study tour. First of all, we understand the direction of the Grand Canal from the perspective of moisture, and the intersection of the Grand Canal with the Huaihe River and the Yangtze River. Through the field investigation of several important cultural sites such as Xijindu, China Grand Canal Museum and Li Canal Cultural Corridor, we can deeply experience the humanistic connotation of the Grand Canal.

Wenbo Classroom: Binding Method —— Experience of learning the binding of ancient books
Introduction to the event:
Before the invention of printing, books were copied on silk and paper in the form of long rolls, which were unfolded when reading and rolled up at ordinary times. Books of this period can only be packed in scrolls. After the popularization of block printing, because books are divided into blocks, scroll binding is no longer applicable, and the binding of ancient books has been improved to album form, and several forms such as cyclone binding, warp folding, Bao Beizhuang and thread binding have appeared successively, and the thread binding form has been used to this day. This course will introduce students to different binding methods of traditional ancient books in different times, and lead students to experience the binding process of ancient books by thread binding.

Activity 1: movable type ink spectrum
Printing is one of the four great inventions in China and a pioneering work in human history. Wuxi people are best at copper movable type printing. Copper movable type printing in the Ming Dynasty developed in Wuxi, rich in copper and world-renowned. Until recently, Wuxi was a famous printing town in China. Through rubbings and poems, this course deeply understands the history and culture of Wuxi and feels the charm of traditional culture.
Activity 2: "shaping" Wuxi
Huishan clay figurine was selected into the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list in 2006, which is a veritable symbol of Wuxi traditional culture and an outstanding representative of China traditional handicrafts. Based on the sense of responsibility of inheriting traditional culture and history, developing regional culture and art, and promoting excellent folk art, this activity introduced the origin of clay sculpture, raw materials, painting characteristics and production technology of Huishan clay figurine, relying on the permanent exhibition "Elegant Clay Sculpture-Huishan Clay Fighter" in the hospital, so that more young people could understand the artistic creation of clay figurine and truly understand the essence of traditional culture.
Activity 3: China clay glows.
Selecting materials, making blanks, drying, decorating, glazing and entering the kiln, ancient craftsmen gave new life to the soil with a pair of skillful hands to shape, decorate and glaze. Plain soil was remolded by powder, reborn by fire, and turned into porcelain as the carrier, from royal to folk, from east to west. Craftsmen whose names have never been recorded in history books have captured the aesthetics of the times and made various porcelains with exquisite skills, leaving valuable cultural wealth for future generations. This course will lead young students to experience the charm of ceramic art from kneading, molding, painting and other angles.
