About the author: Ma Yifu, a native of Huiji, Zhejiang, is a modern thinker in China. Together with Liang Shuming and Xiong Shili, he is also known as the "three saints of modern times", one of the early representatives of modern neo-Confucianism, a lyricist of the school song of Zhejiang University, and a former professor of Zhejiang University. He has profound attainments in ancient philosophy, literature and Buddhism, and is also good at calligraphy. He is a master of Cao Zhang and Han Li, and has his own system. Feng Zikai praised him as "China's calligraphy master". After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), he served as director of Zhejiang Literature and History Research Museum, deputy director of central research institute of culture and history and member of the CPPCC. The descendants series is a collection of Ma Yifu's works. On the morning of April 23rd, 20 13, the International Ma Yifu Humanities Research Center of Zhejiang University was established at the Ma Yifu 130 Birthday Commemorative Conference and Sinology Seminar.
