The Institute of Tibetan Language and Culture now has the Northwest Institute of Tibetan Studies, which consists of Regong Art Research Office, Tibetan Literature Research Office, Tibetan Buddhism Research Office and Dunhuang Ancient Tibetan Language Research Office. At present, the Institute of Tibetan Language and Culture offers two majors: Tibetan language and literature and business administration (Tibetan-Chinese bilingual). There are 27 faculty members and 21 full-time teachers, including 4 professors, 5 associate professors and 13 lecturers. There are ***345 students in school, and the source of students has expanded from Gansu and Qinghai to Tibet and Sichuan. ? Since its establishment, Tibetan Language and Literature has always adhered to the Party's national education policy, adhered to the principle of promoting national culture and cultivating national talents, constantly expanded the scale of running schools and strived to improve the level of running schools. In 1979, the postgraduate program of Tibetan language and literature began to enroll students. In the early 199s, according to the needs of talent training in Tibetan areas, the specialty of self-taught examination for Tibetan language and literature was set up, and the specialty of self-taught examination for undergraduates was set up in 1998. Up to now, nearly 8 graduate students, more than 2,2 junior college students and more than 7 self-taught college students have been sent to the vast Tibetan areas, relevant professional departments and party and government organs at all levels. Most of these graduates are struggling silently in the vast Tibetan areas, and they have made important contributions to socialist construction, political stability and national unity in Tibetan areas.
The Tibetan Language and Culture Institute has always attached importance to the construction of teaching materials, and its characteristics determine the uniqueness and importance of the construction of teaching materials. 95% of the specialized course textbooks used by our department were compiled by previous teachers. According to incomplete statistics, teachers of Tibetan Language and Culture College have compiled and published nearly 3 textbooks for specialized courses. These textbooks not only basically meet the teaching needs of this major, but also have been selected by Tibetan language majors in brother colleges and universities, which are widely welcomed. In order to further meet the demand for talents in Tibetan areas in the new period, in 2, the college approved the establishment of an undergraduate major in business administration (Tibetan-Chinese bilingualism) in the Tibetan Language and Culture College, and began enrolling students that year. In order to standardize the teaching of this major step by step, it is planned that our department will translate and compile 14 textbooks for this major in cooperation with Tibetan departments of other brother colleges. While doing a good job in teaching, Tibetan Language and Culture College insists on promoting scientific research through teaching and promoting teaching through scientific research. Since the 195s, groups of Tibetan experts have emerged. Wang Yiwen, Cai Dan Xia Rong, Duan Kexing, Hou Shengzhen, Huang Fensheng, Cha Taier, Gong Quecai Dan, etc. Their works mainly include Records of Xiaqiong Temple, Detailed Explanation of Tibetan Grammar, Tibetan-Chinese Dictionary, General Theory of Poetics, Star World, Collected Works of Cai Dan Xia Rong, World Sang, Strange Records of Tibet, Biography of Pelopoulos, Chronicle of Tibetan History and Brief History of Tibet. The main translated works are The Legend of the King of Tibet, The Life of Mirariba, Many Biographies of King Gesar, A Dream of Red Mansions, etc. Since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the national policy and intellectual policy have been fully implemented, and the faculty members have devoted themselves to teaching and scientific research with a brand-new look, and a new generation of Tibetan experts have emerged: Duo Duo Dong Zhou Ning Luo, Hua Rui Sang Jie, He Wenxuan, Hua Kan, Gao Rui, Ga Zang Cai Dan, Shan Fudan and so on. A number of outstanding young and middle-aged teachers also stand out, among which Tashi Cairang, Daoji Renqin, Cairang Grass and Doulaga are outstanding. The main works of this period are: Wisdom Bursting out of Love, Praise of the Essence of Buddhism, Supreme Treasure of Wisdom, Collection of Tibetan Grammar, Basis of Tibetan Calligraphy, Basic Knowledge of Sanskrit, Modern Administration, Relations of Public Relations, Lights of Tibetan Grammar, and Tibetan-Chinese Comparative Dictionary. It has completely solved the problem of "whether there is a textbook" in this department, and bid farewell to mimeographed handouts for many years, especially in academic aspects, which has been well received by peer experts. ? Up to now, Tibetan Language and Culture Institute has gradually developed into an academic group integrating teaching and scientific research. The undergraduate major of "Business Administration" (Tibetan-Chinese bilingual) began to enroll students this year. In 1999, Tibetan language and literature was identified as a provincial key discipline by Gansu Province. There are three research directions: ancient Tibetan, Chinese-Tibetan translation and modern and contemporary literature. It is planned to compile 25 monographs, and 1 have been completed. The Institute of Tibetan Language and Culture has always attached great importance to information construction. The department reference room has more than 5, books of all kinds, and there is also a Tibetan ancient books reading room, which has more than 2,4 Sichuan Degemu rigid books and more than 1 Tibetan publications. These materials have continuously provided favorable information guarantee for the academic research of our department and even our college. Tibetan Language and Literature Specialty of Tibetan Language and Culture College has received strong support from all walks of life at home and abroad since it was established fifty years ago. In 1987, Mr. Cai Dan Xia Rong set up the "Cai Dan Xia Rong Scholarship"; In 1994, Mr. Da Jiamei set up the "Da Jiamei Scholarship"; In 1998, the "Tibetan Culture Scholarship" was established; In 1999, Mr. Wan Guo and Mr. Ben Jia set up the "Dongzhijia Literature Award"; In 1999, Lizhong Foundation established Lizhong Scholarship, which subsidizes many poor students with excellent academic performance and several teachers for further study every year. There are more than 1 kinds of scholarships in the whole college, and the winning rate is more than 2% of all students, which greatly mobilizes students' enthusiasm for studying. The leading bodies of Tibetan Language and Culture College have attached great importance to teaching management and student management. In 1997, the specific implementation plan of the five-year project of teaching reform in Northwest University for Nationalities was formulated. In 1998, the "357 Teacher Training Plan of Tibetan Department of Northwest University for Nationalities" was revised and improved. In 1999, the "Discipline Construction Plan of Tibetan Department of Northwest University for Nationalities" was formulated, including the implementation plan of key discipline construction plan.
