Dazhuan script is a script of ancient inscriptions, Oracle Bone Inscriptions and Six Kingdoms in the late Western Zhou Dynasty. They have preserved the obvious features of ancient Oracle Bone Inscriptions, so people think that there are many hieroglyphics in Da Zhuan.
Generally speaking, the structure of Da Zhuan is regular and changeable, and its brushwork is thin, vigorous and straight, with many straight lines. There are Fang Bi, round pen and sharp pen, and there are many "hanging needles" for writing. The lines of Da Zhuan are uniform in thickness, rich in texture and changeable at will.
When writing with a brush, Da Zhuan hides the peak and exposes the peak. With the wrist as the axis, he makes a curve "swing" and twists the tube with his fingers, which directly drives the "swing". Therefore, a good seal script can only be written if the calligraphy skills reach a certain level.
Big seal script, word name, broadly refers to the characters before Xiao seal script, including inscriptions on bronze (or "Zhong Dingwen") and inscriptions on bronze (the complexity of inscriptions on bronze). Contemporary Chinese character experts estimate that there should be Oracle Bone Inscriptions in the Qin Dynasty, so it is also included. The narrow sense of Da Zhuan refers to Shi Guwen.
Dazhuan is a widely used font in the late Western Zhou Dynasty, and it is said that it was created by Boyi in Xia Dynasty. Dazhuan also refers to Shi Guwen, a kind of stone carving with writing style and traces, which is named after its writing in Shizhuanpian. Shi Guwen, named after being carved on the stone drum, is the earliest stone inscription and the ancestor of stone carving.
Historical background
In the late Western Zhou Dynasty, Chinese characters gradually evolved into Da Zhuan. The development of seal script has produced two characteristics: first, the lines with uneven thickness in the early days became uniform and soft, and the lines they drew with utensils were very concise and vivid; Second, standardization, the glyph structure tends to be neat, and gradually deviates from the original shape of the picture, laying the foundation for the square characters. The big seal is for the later small seal.
Dazhuan, also known as Zhuan (zhòu) text. It was named after it was recorded in Shi Shuo pian. "History of Han, Art and Literature": "There are fifteen historical books, and the history books are printed." There are 225 essays in Shuowen, which was collected by Xu Shen on the basis of nine essays in Shishuo, and it is the main material for us to study Dazhuan.
