The inscriptions on Chu bronzes are independently completed by many scholars who study characters, and their greatest characteristics are strangeness and romance. From the unearthed bronze wares of Chu State, we can see that the bronze inscriptions of Chu State are relatively old, with thick strokes and sharp tails, which are much closer to some bronze inscriptions in the late Shang Dynasty and early Zhou Dynasty, and later bronze inscriptions are also based on this.
Chu Shu, centered on the state of Chu, is a rebellion against the tradition of bronze inscriptions in the Western Zhou Dynasty. It is a brand-new calligraphy with the characteristics of slender, graceful and decorative.
