Pre-reading has special effects on dealing with large texts, such as lengthy magazines, newspaper articles, business reports and realistic reports. This method allows you to obtain almost half of the information in 9/10 less time than the average person.
Method: No matter what the article is, first read the first two paragraphs, then the first sentence of each paragraph, and finally the last two paragraphs.
Pre-reading obviously can't give you every detail, but it can save you time and prevent you from looking at things you don't want to see - or don't need to see.

2. Skimming – applies to short, simple articles.
Skimming is a good way to get an overview of the situation from light reading materials such as popular magazines and newspapers’ entertainment and sports columns. Skimming the entertainment section of a weekly magazine or daily newspaper can take half the time it would take to read them in the usual way. Additionally, skimming is a great way to review material you've seen before.
Method: Imagine your two eyes are two magnets, force them to scan each line of words quickly, paying attention to only a few key words in each line.
Everyone chooses different keywords when skimming. When you and I skim the same article, although the keywords are not exactly the same, the meaning of the original text understood by the two people will be very similar.
Up to now, you have been able to use pre-reading and skimming to quickly understand the content of the article. But since you're not reading all the words, neither technique guarantees you'll get more than half of the details. Let's look at the third technique.
3. Group Reading - Satisfies those who want both high speed and high efficiency.
When most of us read a book, we read it word by word, one word at a time, like this: My-brother-...probably until now you have read the book Use this method, especially when you encounter an article full of difficult words. This kind of reading method is really a big obstacle to fast reading. It greatly slows down your reading speed. Group reading teaches you how to read a group of words at a time instead of just one word.
Method: Practice so that your eyes can see 3 to 4 words at the same time in one glance.
Okay, let's try it. Choose a simple passage, read it as quickly as possible, and then read it again using your usual method to check how much you missed the first time.
If you don’t miss much when reading in groups, your reading speed and skills have improved. Practice for 15 minutes every day, and you will be able to master the skill of group reading in a week.
You see, now you have three techniques to improve your reading speed: pre-reading helps you cut out a lot of unnecessary reading; skimming helps you quickly know the content of easy articles; and group reading , allowing you to improve your reading speed and comprehension at the same time.
