Introduction to cursive script:

Cursive script is a handwritten font style in China's calligraphy, so it is named because of its untidy handwriting. The types are divided into Cao Zhang, Cao Jin, Wild Grass and Hangcao.

Content introduction:

Cursive script is one of the five styles of China's calligraphy. Five calligraphy styles, namely seal script, official script, cursive script, regular script and running script. The cursive script originated in the Han Dynasty, and evolved on the basis of ancient Chinese characters. It was produced, developed and formed long before the regular script. It can also be regarded as a cursive script or a subordinate or regular script.

Subordinate and cursive script have the meaning of seal script in writing and turning. In another way, seal script itself contains subordinate and cursive factors, and the development of seal script is the inevitable result of official script and cursive script. We can clearly see that it belongs to the whole process of birth in the silk books and bamboo slips of the pre-Qin and Warring States periods.

Such as bamboo slips from the tomb of Zeng Houyi, Xinyang Bamboo Slips, Yangtianhu Bamboo Slips, Wangshan Bamboo Slips, Baoshan Bamboo Slips, Qingchuan Bamboo Slips, Sleeping Tiger Bamboo Slips, etc., these unearthed materials clearly tell us that the official script at this time is like a fetus, pregnant and seated, with clear bones and five senses. Cursive script can be said to be a companion piece of official script, which is later than official script.

The development and evolution of cursive script;

Cursive script itself has revolutionary elements, which is involuntary. It is not like seal script, official script, regular script, and horse script, because it itself contains elements of change.

In Oracle Bone Inscriptions and Shi Guwen, during the Jin Dynasty, productivity was low, few people could read and write, and writing tools were particularly limited. Many things can't be reconciled in a short time, and cursive scripts can't be produced either. Just like in winter, it is impossible for all kinds of plants to produce, develop and prosper.

Everything needs a condition, a preparation and a motivation. When the productive forces reach a stage, the development of culture and the evolution of writing are inevitable.
