"Good as water." The best kind is like water! As we said before, "goodness" is a space-time category. It is an application of Tao in our world-a concrete evaluation of virtue. "Virtue" evolved from "Tao", which is a universal law.
On the level of Tao, there is no distinction between good and evil, but on the level of morality, there is not only a qualitative difference between good and evil, but also a qualitative difference between good, good and good.
Everything in the world has virtue, such as "Heaven has virtue, Earth has virtue, Chunmu Dexing, Summer Fire Dexing, Autumn Jindexing and Winter Water Dexing". At the turn of the four seasons, Tudexing. For example, a gentleman has virtue, a gentleman has benevolence, a martial artist talks about martial virtue, an artist talks about artistic virtue, and ordinary people talk about personal virtue.
So what can be used to measure whether these virtues are good or bad, good or small? The only criterion is to see whether it conforms to the Tao. Conformity is "goodness", and the more conformity, the better. Why is water "virtuous" and "good"? Just because it is "a little more than Tao"-very close to Tao.
What are the specific merits of this "water virtue" which is very close to "Tao"? Because it "defeats the enemy without fighting, it is not good." -being good at nourishing everything without seeking success, being able to live and work in an environment that everyone hates, that is to say, "being selfish and benefiting others", which is Bethune's * * * style of upright character!
Water is what we are most familiar with. Three quarters of our bodies are water. There are countless concrete examples about water, so I will focus on the following seven aspects.
"Live in a good place, be kind-hearted, kind-hearted, good at words, good at politics, good at doing things, and good at being a person." This is Laozi's further development of "water virtue" and his comparison with "human virtue".
Live in a good place. The characteristics of water are downward, which is aimed at our world (earth). Therefore, water will generally rush to those low-lying places without hesitation-places that secular people hate most. This is "water flows downwards", but people have to "go upwards". If everyone wants to go "high" in interpersonal communication, it is bound to "fight", from fist to fist, to blood dripping, to life and death. If someone can pay attention to lowering their posture, condescending to themselves and keeping a modest attitude, then it is "indisputable", and "indisputable" is one of the behaviors of "doing good". And "goodness" is the most consistent with "Tao", so it is cheap in the end. As the saying goes, "it is a blessing to lose money, and it is a good thing to get cheap." "Good people don't bully the sky, and evil people are afraid of it." That's the truth.
Looking back at the water, although it keeps rushing to low-lying places, it never stops sublimation (evaporation). Finally, it swims in the blue sky in a brand-new and purer form, namely white clouds-no one looks down on it. As the saying goes, "plummet, fall into the abyss." God won't bully me. I'll go to heaven in nine days. "
"The heart is good." The essence of water is clear and quiet, never influenced by any foreign objects, and its physical and chemical properties are extremely stable: colorless, odorless and transparent. When you run fast, you can be mixed with gravel, but once you stop, you will slowly clarify and restore your original appearance. It can contain many inorganic salts and minerals, but when it sublimates (evaporates), it returns to its purity.
Can we be human and never be confused by the environment like that? Always keep that pure and quiet heart? Can we not change the nature of nature and the original intention of kindness?
"Be kind to others". Water is "kind" to any object. Rubble and Baoyu can follow it, and it will never favor one over the other. It is willing to nourish towering trees and humble grass, neither following the trend nor pretending to be lofty.
"Good words and good faith". Underwater sound is the most beautiful sound between heaven and earth, and it is also the most unpredictable sound, but each sound conforms to its identity. It can be the "moistening things silently" like spring rain, the "gurgling" of a stream, the "rushing" of a river and the roar of the sea. You can know its shape by listening to its voice. This is "faith". Consistent inside and outside, consistent in appearance, neither bluffing nor pretentious.
"Good governance". Water completely depends on the principle of "Tao" and the specific geographical environment to determine its path. No matter what the east, west, north and south, whether it is a straight road or a detour, it is based on the terrain, and there is absolutely no subjective desire to go. It has only one general direction, running towards low-lying, regardless of style and face. It can be dozens of miles wide and a few meters narrow. It can walk on the ground or underground. It doesn't even consider whether it will eventually run to the sea or the desert, and it will never automatically seek good fortune and avoid evil. Water is the real "inaction".
Good things can be done. Water has the most functions. It can moisten, dissolve, clean and wash. It can be a drop of life-saving "nectar" or "the strong can't win". It doesn't care whether it is the protagonist, how much income it has, how many eyeballs it has attracted, how high the popularity index is, whether it can evaluate an academician, doctoral tutor and so on. It's just trying silently. But where can we leave the water completely? It can be said that most of the work in this world would be impossible without the participation of water.
"When you are good." Water is best at waiting for the right time to start. In spring, all things revive and germinate, and they need a certain amount of water. It comes; Everything needs a lot of water to grow and develop in summer, and the rain in summer is also the most in four seasons; In autumn, the breath of everything converges, life turns into seeds, and the corresponding precipitation begins to decrease; In winter, everything is hidden, life is sealed inside, and there is basically no precipitation. Even if the precipitation does not flow (snow), it will be used when the atmosphere warms up and everything recovers in spring.
"Husband is indisputable, so there is nothing special."
Because it is "indisputable", it is "nothing special". "indisputable" means "inaction" Is it necessary to "fight" and "do nothing" according to "Tao"? How reasonable are the "competition" and "fair competition, survival of the fittest" advocated by modern society? What exactly is "contention"?
To understand what is "doing nothing without doing anything" and what is "fighting with it, so the world can't fight with it", it depends on the water. Only when we treat everything we have to face, such as study, work, love, career, family, teachers, colleagues, friends, family and life, can we have neither inner worries and melancholy nor external worries and difficulties.
