Lao Tzu pointed to the vast Yellow River and said to Kong Qiu, "Why don't you learn the virtue of water?" Kong Qiu said, "What is the virtue of water?" Laozi said: "Being good is like water: water is good for everything without contention, which is the virtue of humility;" Therefore, Jiang Hai can be the king of all the valleys, and if he is good at it, he can also be the king of all the valleys. The water in the world is not weak, and the strong can't win, which is also gentleness; Therefore, softness wins, and weakness wins. Because it has nothing, it can enter without trace, which shows that the teaching without words is also beneficial to inaction. "Kong Qiu suddenly realized:" Sir, this sentence made me suddenly enlightened: people are in water, and water is lonely; Everyone is easy, and water is alone; Everyone is clean, and water is alone. Who can contend with the evil people do? This is why it is good. " Lao Tzu nodded and said, "You can teach me! You can remember: if you don't fight against the world, no one in the world can compete with it, which is to imitate Shuide. Water is more than Tao: Tao is everywhere, water has no disadvantages, avoid heights, never oppose, and be good at its place; Empty and quiet, unfathomable, good and deep; Losses are inexhaustible, efforts are unrequited, and kindness is also benevolent; You must rotate, you must fold, you must stop, you must flow, you must be kind and trustworthy; Wash the filth, smooth it out, and handle things well; There is a load floating, a clear reference, a strong attack, and a good use of energy; It's also good for you to stay up all night and fall behind. Therefore, saints can do whatever they want, and saints should change because of things; Wise men govern by doing nothing, while great men live in harmony with the weather. After you come here, besides your desire for appearance, you should be arrogant in words. Otherwise, people will smell it before they arrive, and the wind will move before it arrives, walking in the street like a tiger. Who dares to use you? Kong Qiu said, "Mr. Wang's words came from the heart and entered the disciple's heart and spleen. Disciples have benefited a lot and will never forget it. Disciples will be obedient and tirelessly grateful to the teacher for his kindness. " Say that finish, say goodbye to Lao tze, and reluctantly get on the bus and head for the Nangong.

Learn the philosophy of "being good as water"

The word "good as water" comes from the eighth chapter of Laozi's Tao Te Ching: "Good as water. Water is good for all things without dispute, and evil for all, so it is a few words. Living in a good place, kind-hearted, kind-hearted, good at words, good at governance, good at doing things, good at dealing with people. Husband is not noisy, and there is nothing special. "

It literally means: the best is like water. Water is good at helping everything without competing with it. It stays in places that people don't like, so it is close to the Tao. Kindhearted people should live as humble as water, as deep as water, as blind as making friends, as sincere as water, as organizing for politicians, as omnipotent as water, as standby as water. Just because he is as uncontroversial as water, he has no worries. When it comes to the ideological significance involved, it is even more necessary to explain.

Laozi said: "goodness is like water, and water is the goodness of all things." This is the virtue of modesty. " Therefore, Jiang Hai can be the king of all the valleys. If he is good at it, he can be the king of all the valleys. The water in the world is not weak, and the strong can't win. This is a gentle virtue; Therefore, softness wins, and weakness wins. Because it has nothing, it can enter nothing, which shows that the teaching without words is also beneficial to inaction. "

He thinks that people who do good deeds should be like water. Water benefits and nourishes everything, but it does not compete with everything. This is the most modest virtue. Jianghai can be the destination of all rivers because he is good at being in the downstream position, so he becomes the king of the hundred valleys.

The softest thing in the world is water, but it can penetrate the hardest thing, and nothing can surpass it, such as dripping water wears away a stone. This is where Rudd lies. Therefore, the weak can defeat the strong, and the soft can defeat the strong.

Invisible things can enter things seamlessly, from which we know the teaching of "quietness" and the benefits of "inaction"

Laozi also said: "Because there is no dispute, the world can't compete with it. This is an imitation of water morality. Water is more than road; Road is everywhere, and water has no disadvantages. It has never been reversed, and it is not bad. The empty place is quiet and unfathomable. Goodness is deep; Losses are inexhaustible, efforts are unrequited, and kindness is kind. ...

"Tao" is the general source of all things in the world, something that exists before concrete things, and also the basic law and origin of things. Therefore, "Tao" is something that each of us should know and understand. The virtue of water is closest to Tao, and Tao is everywhere. So there is no harm in water. It avoids heights and goes down, so it won't be blocked. It can flow anywhere, nourish everything and wash away dirt. It is in a deep pool, with a clear and calm surface, but unfathomable. It continuously benefits all things and asks for nothing in return. Such virtue, even kindness to goodness. ...

Chernyshev once wrote a passage: "Water is fascinating because of its brilliant transparency and its light blue brilliance. Water reflects everything around it in a picturesque way, swaying all this, and the water we see is a first-class sketch artist. " Indeed, "Water" gently and poetically tells you the state of mind in the face of setbacks and disappointments, and tells you the great wisdom of life. A mirror stops water, and a calm mind is like a smooth and thorough mirror, which can reflect the truth of the world. In front of transparent water, we know what is pure and what is dirty. In front of a clear mind, we know what is good and what is evil. On the other hand, when you look back at your own shortcomings, you don't have to passively resist and struggle. Rippling water is lack of insight, which will make you lost, painful and hesitant. It is better to be tolerant and purify like water.

I once read an article called The Philosophy of Soapy Water. The story tells us that if we look at the problem from another angle like water, maybe we will get a "bright future". Story telling; John Calvin Coolidge became president of the United States on 1923. He has a beautiful female secretary. Although she is good-looking, she often makes mistakes in her work because of carelessness. One morning, Coolidge saw the secretary come into the office and said to her, "This dress you are wearing today is really beautiful, just suitable for a beautiful lady like you." This sentence comes from Coolidge's mouth, which is simply flattering the female secretary. Coolidge went on to say, "But don't be proud. I believe you can handle official documents as beautifully as you do. " Sure enough, from that day on, female secretaries rarely make mistakes when dealing with official documents. After learning about this, a friend asked Coolidge, "This method is wonderful. How did you come up with it? " Coolidge proudly said, "It's very simple. Have you ever seen a barber shave someone? " He wants to put some soapy water on people first. Why? It's just a scratch, which makes people feel no pain. "

After the story is finished, we deeply feel a truth of being a man from the story; That is; Good medicine is not necessarily bitter, and advice is not necessarily bitter. Indeed, good medicine can be coated with sugar and advice can be modified. Criticism also needs to be artistic. It is true that we know the fact that most people who make mistakes will not take the initiative to admit their mistakes and consciously correct them. At this time, if the other party uses too sharp words, then the tolerant person is likely to be pale and disgusted. Ironic criticism without scruples and methods will make people disgusted, let alone accept suggestions to correct mistakes. As the famous psychologist Jess Ryle said, "Praise is like sunshine to the human soul. Without it, we can't grow and blossom. But most of us are only sensitive to avoid the indifference of others, and stingy to give others the sunshine of approval. Indeed, when you are alive, you will inevitably encounter setbacks, obstacles and injuries ... If you want to play hardball, then you must be the hardest one, otherwise, one day you will be crushed by the other side. So why not learn water? Be gentle and soft like her. In this way, no matter what is ahead, we can move forward in our own direction more smoothly.

Water is extensive and profound, which gives us a lot of enlightenment, such as "dripping water wears away the stone", which encourages us to persevere in our pursuit of the cause; "Thousands of rivers rush to the sea, and one river flows eastward", which inspires us to have courage and firm and persistent spirit once we identify our goals; "All rivers run into the sea, all rivers run into the sea" inspires us to have a grand tolerance and a broad mind ... Water has given us such rich and extensive inspiration, no wonder the sages praised "goodness as water"! "Good as water" is our motto. [ 1]

Good deeds are like water, and good deeds carry things.

Good as water. Water is good for all things without dispute, and evil for all, so it is a few words. Living in a good place, kind-hearted, kind-hearted, good at words, good at politics, good at doing things, good at dealing with people. Husband is just indisputable, so there is nothing special.

Virtue is like water: water is good at nourishing everything without seeking success, and can live and work in an environment that everyone hates, so it is close to the realm of Tao. Defend the good land that no one hits and no one hits; The mood is as clear and quiet as the abyss; Behavior is full of love for all beings because of inner peace; The word because of quietism, does not seek fame and fortune, natural loyalty; Politically, because of selflessness, no desire and no deliberate pursuit of promising jobs, it can naturally be governed; After getting rid of all selfish desires, seeking fame, seeking profits and being overjoyed, we can really concentrate all our energy on doing things and do everything; Acting will also see the real start time and be good at grasping the opportunity. It is precisely because he does not deliberately strive for power, profit and fame that he has neither inner worries nor depression, nor external troubles and difficulties.

"Good as water." The best kind is like water! As we said before, "goodness" is a space-time category. It is an application of Tao in our world-a concrete evaluation of virtue. "Virtue" evolved from "Tao", which is a universal law.

On the level of Tao, there is no distinction between good and evil, but on the level of morality, there is not only a qualitative difference between good and evil, but also a qualitative difference between good, good and good.

Everything in the world has virtue, such as "Heaven has virtue, Earth has virtue, Chunmu Dexing, Summer Fire Dexing, Autumn Jindexing and Winter Water Dexing". At the turn of the four seasons, Tudexing. For example, a gentleman has virtue, a gentleman has benevolence, a martial artist talks about martial virtue, an artist talks about artistic virtue, and ordinary people talk about personal virtue.

So what can be used to measure whether these virtues are good or bad, good or small? The only criterion is to see whether it conforms to the Tao. Conformity is "goodness", and the more conformity, the better. Why is water "virtuous" and "good"? Just because it is "a little more than Tao"-very close to Tao.

What are the specific merits of this "water virtue" which is very close to "Tao"? Because it "defeats the enemy without fighting, it is not good." -being good at nourishing everything without seeking success, being able to live and work in an environment that everyone hates, that is to say, "being selfish and benefiting others", which is Bethune's * * * style of upright character!

Water is what we are most familiar with. Three quarters of our bodies are water. There are countless concrete examples about water, so I will focus on the following seven aspects.

"Live in a good place, be kind-hearted, kind-hearted, good at words, good at politics, good at doing things, and good at being a person." This is Laozi's further development of "water virtue" and his comparison with "human virtue".

Live in a good place. The characteristics of water are downward, which is aimed at our world (earth). Therefore, water will generally rush to those low-lying places without hesitation-places that secular people hate most. This is "water flows downwards", but people have to "go upwards". If everyone wants to go "high" in interpersonal communication, it is bound to "fight", from fist to fist, to blood dripping, to life and death. If someone can pay attention to lowering their posture, condescending to themselves and keeping a modest attitude, then it is "indisputable", and "indisputable" is one of the behaviors of "doing good". And "goodness" is the most consistent with "Tao", so it is cheap in the end. As the saying goes, "it is a blessing to lose money, and it is a good thing to get cheap." "Good people don't bully the sky, and evil people are afraid of it." That's the truth.

Looking back at the water, although it keeps rushing to low-lying places, it never stops sublimation (evaporation). Finally, it swims in the blue sky in a brand-new and purer form, namely white clouds-no one looks down on it. As the saying goes, "plummet, fall into the abyss." God won't bully me. I'll go to heaven in nine days. "

"The heart is good." The essence of water is clear and quiet, never influenced by any foreign objects, and its physical and chemical properties are extremely stable: colorless, odorless and transparent. When you run fast, you can be mixed with gravel, but once you stop, you will slowly clarify and restore your original appearance. It can contain many inorganic salts and minerals, but when it sublimates (evaporates), it returns to its purity.

Can we be human and never be confused by the environment like that? Always keep that pure and quiet heart? Can we not change the nature of nature and the original intention of kindness?

"Be kind to others". Water is "kind" to any object. Rubble and Baoyu can follow it, and it will never favor one over the other. It is willing to nourish towering trees and humble grass, neither following the trend nor pretending to be lofty.

"Good words and good faith". Underwater sound is the most beautiful sound between heaven and earth, and it is also the most unpredictable sound, but each sound conforms to its identity. It can be the "moistening things silently" like spring rain, the "gurgling" of a stream, the "rushing" of a river and the roar of the sea. You can know its shape by listening to its voice. This is "faith". Consistent inside and outside, consistent in appearance, neither bluffing nor pretentious.

"Good governance". Water completely depends on the principle of "Tao" and the specific geographical environment to determine its path. No matter what the east, west, north and south, whether it is a straight road or a detour, it is based on the terrain, and there is absolutely no subjective desire to go. It has only one general direction, running towards low-lying, regardless of style and face. It can be dozens of miles wide and a few meters narrow. It can walk on the ground or underground. It doesn't even consider whether it will eventually run to the sea or the desert, and it will never automatically seek good fortune and avoid evil. Water is the real "inaction".

Good things can be done. Water has the most functions. It can moisten, dissolve, clean and wash. It can be a drop of life-saving "nectar" or "the strong can't win". It doesn't care whether it is the protagonist, how much income it has, how many eyeballs it has attracted, how high the popularity index is, whether it can evaluate an academician, doctoral tutor and so on. It's just trying silently. But where can we leave the water completely? It can be said that most of the work in this world would be impossible without the participation of water.

"When you are good." Water is best at waiting for the right time to start. In spring, all things revive and germinate, and they need a certain amount of water. It comes; Everything needs a lot of water to grow and develop in summer, and the rain in summer is also the most in four seasons; In autumn, the breath of everything converges, life turns into seeds, and the corresponding precipitation begins to decrease; In winter, everything is hidden, life is sealed inside, and there is basically no precipitation. Even if the precipitation does not flow (snow), it will be used when the atmosphere warms up and everything recovers in spring.

"Husband is indisputable, so there is nothing special."

Because it is "indisputable", it is "nothing special". "indisputable" means "inaction" Is it necessary to "fight" and "do nothing" according to "Tao"? How reasonable are the "competition" and "fair competition, survival of the fittest" advocated by modern society? What exactly is "contention"?

To understand what is "doing nothing without doing anything" and what is "fighting with it, so the world can't fight with it", it depends on the water. Only when we treat everything we have to face, such as study, work, love, career, family, teachers, colleagues, friends, family and life, can we have neither inner worries and melancholy nor external worries and difficulties. This is a problem that we should seriously consider. [2]

Laozi (600 years ago-470 years ago) (Wuding was born in Shimao on February 15th at the end of the Western Zhou Dynasty), surnamed Li Minger, from Qurenli, Li Xiang, Guxian County, Chu State (now Lu Yi). He was a great philosopher and thinker in ancient China, the founder of Taoist school and a world cultural celebrity. Laozi, also known as Lao Dan, is said to be born with white eyebrows and white beard, so he is called Laozi; Laozi lived in the Spring and Autumn Period and worked as a librarian (equivalent to the director of the National Library) in Luoyi (now Luoyang, Henan), the capital of Zhou Dynasty.

1973-65438+In February, two manuscripts of Laozi (Tao Te Ching) were unearthed from the No.3 Han Tomb in Mawangdui, Changsha, Hunan.

Wang is a transparent child. He thinks that "goodness is like water" means that the essence of Tao is the best and highest goodness. It shows that there is an energy in the universe, which is the energy of Tao. The existence form of Tao's essential energy in the universe is just like "water" on the earth: it is everywhere! ! ! "Good as water" refers to the "existence" form of "energy" of "Tao" in the "universe"!

It is because of this energy like water that the universe supports the movement of the sun, the moon and the stars. The tangible objects we see, such as the sun, moon and stars, are very small. However, the invisible energy of water in the universe still occupies a large space and is everywhere. However, human beings ignore the existence of this "good water". The famous saying I just said is as good as water, and few people can understand it!

This kind of energy, which is as good as water in the universe, is the essence of transparent, intangible and temperamental matter. Our scientific research on the existence of matter still stays in the field of "dividing" by shape. And Lao Tzu realized the "transparency" of "nothing" and "reality" more than 2600 years ago, and said: as good as water!

We humans are not so understanding now! ! !
