I have been practicing writing brush for more than ten years, and my understanding is that pen writing is easy to practice, and it is easier to write even lines with pen. Therefore, from a beginner's point of view, it is easier to practice pen writing and it is not difficult to write pen writing well, but it takes at least eight years of hard work to write brush writing well. People who are really good at brush calligraphy will think that brush is better than pen, because pen is not as expressive as brush in terms of pressing, weight, urgency and thread tying. Generally speaking, the pen is better than the brush, and the brush of the first-class calligrapher is better than the pen.
For ordinary lovers, copying the lower case letters of the ancients with a pen is also a good learning method. For example, Wang Xizhi's Le Yi Lun, Zhong Shaojing's Ling Fei Classic, Zhao's Tao Te Ching and Ji An Biography are all excellent models.
