The story about couplets can be simpler.

Su Dongpo was a famous writer, painter and calligrapher in the Northern Song Dynasty. He studied tirelessly all his life. This is inseparable from the lessons of his youth.

Su Dongpo was born in a scholarly family. He is well-read, smart and praised by people for a long time, so he gradually becomes proud.

One day, he wrote a pair of couplets: "Know the words of the world and read the books of the world" and proudly posted them on the door.

Unexpectedly, a few days after posting couplets, a white-haired old man came to the door with a small notebook and said that he had come to ask Sue's son for advice. Su Dongpo didn't mind, but when he took the book, he was dumbfounded-he didn't know any words in it. "This ..." Su Dongpo was tongue-tied for a long time. The old man said modestly, "Please give us your advice!"

Su Dongpo blushed and admitted his mistake: "Please forgive me, old gentleman!" Immediately, I put pen to paper and added two words to the upper and lower couplets, which became a completely different new couplet: "I am determined to read all the books in the world."
