History of Gushi Middle School in Weinan City, Shaanxi Province

Gushi Middle School, formerly known as Weiyang Middle School, is named because it is located in the Yang of Weihe River and there is Weiyang Building in the school.

The school was founded in 1922, when it was named "Gushi Senior Middle School". In 1924, a junior middle school was established, and Weiyang Middle School, the first middle school in Weinan County (now Linwei District of Weinan City), was established, and its current name was changed from 1940.

Tracing back to the history of Gushi Middle School can not help but make people respect. In the 1920s, she was the revolutionary activity center of our party in Weibei, and the Weiyang Building in the school was the former site of Wuyi County Committee. 1925 autumn, Li Dazhao sent Fang Zhongru back to Shaanxi to carry out the party's work, and once established the "China Weiyang Special Branch" to develop party member 132 people. At the beginning of the Cultural Revolution, it was renamed "Dongfanghong Middle School", and after 1973, it was changed back to "Weinan Gushi Middle School".
