The basic exhibition of Changsha Bamboo Slips Museum is called "Road to Civilization-Basic Exhibition of Changsha Bamboo Slips Museum", which consists of four parts:

1. Bamboo Slips of the Three Kingdoms systematically introduces the shapes and contents of these bamboo slips and the research results in recent 12 years, focusing on the main contents of Wu bamboo slips, such as taxation, official history, justice, household registration, official position and calendar years, and recreates the production, life, discovery and excavation scenes of ancient bamboo slips through restoration, animation and other forms.

2. "China Bamboo Slips" mainly introduces the main achievements of bamboo slips discovery and research in various regions from the Warring States to the Wei and Jin Dynasties in the form of pictures and texts, so that the audience can clearly understand the development of bamboo slips and silk books research in China.

Thirdly, the part of "World Text Carrier" mainly introduces the basic situation of text carriers around the world from ancient times to the present, so that the audience can fully understand the bearing and dissemination of text as the basic element of civilizations around the world.

4. The calligraphy of China bamboo slips mainly introduces the evolution, development and maturity of China bamboo slips in the form of plates.

In addition, the main auxiliary exhibition of the museum is the exhibition of cultural relics unearthed in Changsha, which consists of four parts: bronze charm, treasures of Hunan and Chu, treasures of Han Dynasty and porcelain glaze. Among them, "Bronze Charm" introduces the Shang and Zhou bronzes unearthed in Ningxiang, Changsha, and shows the audience the important discovery and historical position of Ningxiang bronzes, one of the three major sites of Shang and Zhou dynasties in China. Treasure of Xiang Chu focuses on Changsha as another political and military center of Chu culture since the late Spring and Autumn Period. Over the years, a large number of exquisite cultural relics from this period have been unearthed, focusing on complete sets of bronze and pottery ritual vessels, handicrafts and sacrificial vessels. The heritage of the Han Dynasty mainly introduces the exquisite cultural relics unearthed in Changsha in the Han Dynasty. This part of the exhibits mainly includes jade, lacquer wood, labels and seals unearthed from the tombs of Wu and Liu royal families in Changsha. "Porcelain glaze" mainly introduces the famous Tongguan kiln in Changsha at home and abroad. This part of the exhibits is rich, highlighting the main characteristics of Changsha Kiln as the birthplace of China underglaze and important export porcelain in Tang Dynasty.
