Wang Xizhi lived in Gaopo, east of Linchuan County, when he was the secretariat of Jiangzhou (AD 345- 347), and was called "New Town" (now Wenchang School in Linchuan District, Fuzhou City). There is a well for living and a Mo Chi for practicing calligraphy in the house. The Story of Linchuan written by Xun Bozi, a litterateur in the Southern Dynasties, and the Story of Mo Chi written by Ceng Gong, a litterateur in the Song Dynasty also described this matter.
Ceng Gong admired Wang Xizhi's reputation and made a special trip to Linchuan, Li Qing in eight years to pay tribute to the Mo Chi site. Wang Sheng asked him to write a note for "Mo Chi in Jin and", so he wrote "Mo Chi". Named "Mo Chi Ji", in fact, the focus is not on "ambition", but on explaining that personal achievements are not innate and need hard work, so as to motivate scholars to study hard. In the current words, it is high-quality chicken soup.
The picture above shows Mo Chi in Linchuan District, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province. It was destroyed in the Cultural Revolution and rebuilt and restored by the Fuzhou government in 2002.
