Brief introduction of Wang Xizhi and his works

1, Wang Xizhi (303-36 1), Xiao Ziyi, a native of Linyi (now Linyi City, Shandong Province). Minister and calligrapher of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, son of Yin in Danyang, son-in-law of Jane, known as "Book Sage". His main works are Huang Tingjing, On Yue Yi, Seventeen Posts, Preface to Lanting Collection and First Moon Post.

With the help of the shadow of the door, he became an official, and served as the secretary of Lang, the secretariat of Jiangzhou, the governor of Huiji, and was transferred to the right army general, known as "Wang Youjun". In the ninth year of Yonghe (353), he organized the Lanting Elegant Collection. His Preface to Lanting has become "the best running script in the world". In the 11th year of Yonghe (355), he claimed to be ill, abandoned his official position and moved to Shaoxing Jinting. He died in the fifth year of Shengping (36 1) and was buried in waterfall mountain.

3, good at calligraphy, and good at Li, Cao, Kai, and other bodies, carefully study the posture, follow one's heart, learn from others, prepare for the body and melt into one furnace, get rid of the Han and Wei styles, and become a far-reaching family. The style is peaceful and natural, the brushwork is euphemistic and subtle, and it is beautiful. In the history of calligraphy, he and Zhong You were called Zhong Wang, and his son Wang Xianzhi were called "two kings". Li Zhimin commented: "Wang Xizhi's calligraphy not only shows simplicity and metaphysics based on the philosophy of Laozi and Zhuangzi, but also shows harmony based on the Confucian doctrine of the mean."
