Maolin has a long history and rich culture. Known as "a famous town in the south of the Yangtze River", it is also known as "Xiaojing County and Damaolin Village". Surrounded by green hills and two water phases, Dongxi and Xi Gu, it has beautiful scenery, which makes visitors linger. The town is flat and open, with merchants gathering, prosperous market and prosperous architecture, with different styles in Tang, Song, Ming and Qing Dynasties. Now there are more than 300 palaces and pavilions, which are of great value. There are many famous people in history, such as Wu Fangpei, the official minister of the Qing Dynasty, Pan, the governor of Jiangnan, and the former finance minister of New China. Maolin is a place where the "Southern Anhui Incident" shocked China and foreign countries. Chikeng Mountain Bee Cave is the place where Xiang Ying, deputy commander of the New Fourth Army, and Zhou Zikun, deputy chief of staff, were killed. Up to now, there is still a well-preserved former site of the front-line operational command post of the New Fourth Army.
