He Xiangyang, a native of Hunan, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts with a Bachelor of Arts. I have loved calligraphy since childhood. Because of his persistent love for calligraphy, he traveled hundreds of miles away to visit his teacher alone at the age of 13. Met the master Mr. Chen Changcai and accepted him as a closed disciple. He has devoted himself to studying calligraphy for more than 20 years, learning from Ouyang Xun, Cao Quanbei, Wang Xizhi and Zhao Mengfu. During this period, he was influenced by Mr. Li Duo (consultant of the Chinese Calligraphers Association) and studied the calligraphy list for many years. Gradually, a style that combines hardness and softness with ease was formed. Using the brush, I learned the ancient brushwork and added my own skills, using the brush in twists and turns, ups and downs. When I look at Mr. He's calligraphy works, my heart moves with the pen, and I can't help but feel enlightened. This is a noble thing. Mr. He Xiangyang is a man who lives in seclusion in the city and does not care about fame. He has rarely appeared in public in recent years. His job is to lead his more than 100 students to practice calligraphy, and in his spare time, he shuts himself in the study to create. I met Mr. He when I saw his works at a friend’s house. I begged my friend for a recommendation, and finally I was able to meet him. I remember the first time I went there, I prepared an envelope with a lot of money in it, hoping that Mr. He would give me some ink. He was very happy, but he didn't take any money. He just said, "We will make friends through books."
