Brief introduction and history of Nanjing ancient forest

Nanjing Gulin Park was built in the former site of Gu Lin Temple, named after the temple. Located in the north of Liangqingshan, Nanjing, and west of Huju North Road. Gu Lin Temple was built in Liang, then called Kannonji. It was called Gu Lin Temple in the Southern Song Dynasty, but it was changed to a temple in the Ming Dynasty, becoming a giant temple in the west of the city.

Every plum blossom festival, Nanjing Gulin Park will hold a plum exhibition. Through introduction and cultivation, there are 60 excellent varieties such as Xiaoqing Calyx, Pink Cinnabar, Canxue, Dayu and Zuoqiaohong, and nearly 3,000 plum blossoms are on display. Gulin Park also set up a 330-square-meter plum blossom bonsai exhibition in the rockery at the gate, with more than 0/00 pots of plum blossom bonsai art, large and small, so that people can feel the profound connotation of plum blossom art while enjoying it.

Peony Garden is located in the southwest corner of Gulin Park. The garden is carved from the mountain, and the fairy peony statue more than two meters high stands in the garden. Peony is famous for its large flowers and beautiful shape, and is known as the "national color and fragrance" and the king of flowers. There are more than 250 kinds of peony flowers, more than 3000 plants, and peony is added. During the "Grain Rain Peony" season, peony and peony in the garden are in full bloom. Visitors stay in the garden, relaxed and happy, lingering. The peony pavilion in the park is built on the mountain, with an area of about 150 square meters. People enjoy flowers in the pavilion, which is full of fun.
