Litchi Tree is a botanical book written by Cai Xiang, a litterateur in Song Dynasty. It was written in the fourth year of Jiayou in Renzong (A.D. 1059). His poetry and prose are exquisite, and his calligraphy is vigorous and dignified, simple and beautiful. Let's enjoy Cai Xiang's regular script together. The book is divided into seven chapters, which mainly discusses the varieties, producing areas, cultivation, processing and storage methods of litchi in Fujian.

A Brief Introduction to Calligraphy in Cai Jing and Cai Jing;
Cai Jing (1047 February14-1 1 26 August11) was born in Chiling, Cixiaoli, Xianyou County, Xinghua Army in the Northern Song Dynasty (now Dongzhai Village, Fengting Town, Xianyou County, Putian City, Fujian Province). Quan Xiang and calligrapher in the Northern Song Dynasty were called the first of the six thieves. Cai Chu studied Cai Xiang's calligraphy with his younger brother, and when the sergeant awarded Qiantang County Commandant, he loved calligraphy because of his faith.
At that time, scholars learned it one after another. Cai Jing also studied Xu Hao calligraphy with Su Shi who was demoted to Qiantang. Later, he studied Shen Chuanshi and Ou Yangxun, and later changed to two kings, learning from others and becoming a whole. His calligraphy style is charming, his words are vigorous, he is happy and calm, and he has a unique style. Cai Jing's calligraphy has survived in the world, including the poem title of Caotang, Fu Jie's post and Gong Shi's post. For Cai Jing's calligraphy, we should still give it a certain position and evaluate it objectively.
