Xie's works have won many awards in provincial and municipal calligraphy and painting competitions. His calligraphy works are unique in style and profound in artistic attainments. He visited more than 30 kinds of inscriptions, starting from Erwang, Yan, Europe, learning from Huai Su, Mi Fei and Wang Duo.
