Xu Zhenqing, named Changgu, was born in Wuxian County. According to historical records, he was a Jinshi in the 18th year of Hongzhi. He was a famous writer in the Ming Dynasty. He was known as the four great talents in ancient China along with Tang Bohu, Zhu Zhishan and Wen Zhengming. He wrote the Xinqian Collection at the age of 16, and then successively wrote literary works such as "Jiang Xing Ji", "Taihu Xin Lu", "Yutai Xing", "Jian Sheng Ye Wen", etc., and was later awarded the title of Doctor of the Imperial College. He is mainly famous for his calligraphy and painting, among which "Tan Yi Lu" is a masterpiece in the history of poetry in the Ming Dynasty. He later believed in Taoism. Unfortunately, he died in the capital in the sixth year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty at the age of 33. He was the earliest to die among the four great talents. .
2. Wen Zhengming. Date of birth: November 28, 1470, date of death: March 28, 1559. Literary works: "Fu Tian Collection" and "Ding Jade Hall Dharma Notes". Painting works: "Listening to the Spring Picture", "Tall Trees Picture in Deep Spring", "Jingxiu on Thousand Rocks", "Picture of Mrs. Xiangjun". Calligraphy works: "Huang Ting Jing", "Thirteen Lines", "Xiyuan Poems", "Fisher Father's Ci". Wen Zhengming's original name was Bi, and he was a native of Changzhou and his former name was Hengshan Jushi. He started to change his name to Zhengzhong at the age of 42. He is proficient in poetry, literature, calligraphy and painting and is called an all-rounder. He learned calligraphy from Li Yingzhen and poetry from Bai Juyi, Su Shi and others. He learned painting from Shen Zhou and has the reputation of being the best in the Ming Dynasty. Ning Wang Zhu Chenhao found that he was more talented and hired him. However, Wen Zhengming refused to leave due to illness. In the last years of Zhengde, he was recommended to the Ministry of Personnel to teach Hanlin and await imperial edicts. However, he did not like the aristocratic power and refused to paint for the officials of the feudal lord. Soon he resigned and returned to his hometown.
3. Zhu Zhishan. Time of birth: December 6, the fourth year of Tianshun, time of death: December 27, the fifth year of Jiajing. Calligraphy works: "Scroll of Poems on Visiting Friends", "Scroll of Fu on Qiuxuan", "Ode on Peony", "Travel Scroll on Dongpo". Character introduction: Zhu Zhishan, also known as Zhu Yunming, was born in Changzhou with the courtesy name Xizhe. He was also called Zhu Zhishan because of his unattractive appearance and branch fingers on his right hand. He was a well-known calligrapher in the Ming Dynasty. He suffered many setbacks in the imperial examination. At the age of 19, he took the examination five times before passing the Jinshi. Later, he became the magistrate of Xingning County, Guangdong. Not only did he return to his hometown due to illness. He is good at painting and poetry, and is known as one of the four great talents in ancient China. Among them, the six volumes of poems in calligraphy, nineteen ancient poems, and the scrolls of cursive poems and poems are all unique treasures. He created 28 literary works and 19 calligraphy works in his lifetime.
4. Tang Bohu. Born on the fourth day of February in the sixth year of Chenghua, died on December 2 of the second year of Jiajing. Literary works: "The Collection of Liuru layman" and "The Complete Works of Liuru layman". Representative poems: "Song of Peach Blossom Temple", "Song of Four Seasons in the South of the Yangtze River", "Song of Xianzhong", "Song of Wu Tianguan".
